Smush Grab Bag Cards and QMC

October 5, 2012 By Chris Durnan

Hello Weeekend!! I found some time today to put together a few Halloween Cards for my nieces and nephews. I used some files from the Smush Grab Bag. It only has a few more days to “grab” so take advantage of that this weekend.

I am a simple card maker. I like the very frilly and fun, but in all honesty these are going to my nieces and nephews. And the frill is nice, but really will be lost on them with the exception of some good fun Halloween stickers with added touches. My son picked these out when we were at Michael’s last after some serious time in the store wandering with me. The Halloween items were just alot of fun to look at and laugh over. I love these times with my son. And I love that he can participate in our giving.

Here are some of our cards from the Smush Bag and below is a preview of the next qmc file to post next week.

This “buckle” above is from the smush grab bag
below the buckle and the conversation bubble. I used the cut out part with a pop do to give it some lift.

This file below looked like little ticket stubs to me from Lori’s portion of the smush bag.

The conversation bubble below (also I again popped dotted the cut away part to give it lift)
and the little plaques under each ghost. I am going to use for nameplates for my crooning nephews 🙂

This card below has a skeleton border for the QMC.
If you have not joined the QMC you can still join, but I thought these guys were fun.
I said to my son the other night….
Hey look at these guys don’t they look happy?
His response:
Well yeah I guess they look happy, but they’re dead.. so thats kinda creapy.
then I got a pat on the arm and a “Love you Mom” smile as he went back to playing with the MTC software which he wants to learn. So fun.
I cut this file out of vinyl at 1.5 inches almost. Ithought I’d share. I love trying to get things to cut super small. I, also, love vinyl to do it.
Well that’s it for me…
Don’t forget the Smush Bag and the QMC if you are looking to add to your cutter file stash.
Enjoy!
Chris

Things I need to say about freebies.
You can DOWNLOAD here.
When you enter the password it says I agree TOU. it means that you agree to my terms of use that this is a personal use. In order for me to keep creating freebies. Please send folks here to my blog. Another good place to find me is on my facebook page for quick updates.
Answers to Questions..
Folks ask my why am I loading to the forum and why the password. Well my other option is a site perhaps like 4shared etc. So you would follow the same steps only instead you go to the forum on the VDBC site and download. I am trying to centralize my work and time on the net so I can create create create. (I am having success with this goal as I have been creating like crazy.) So once you have registered at the forum you can continue to download the freebies by using the passwords. They change once a month rather then every time. So sometimes the forum may not even ask you for a password if you already entered it that month. 🙂 And that is the blah blah blah of today’s post.
So now run on over and grab that file. And just remember….
if you are  a”current QMC member” I load all my downloads from my blog to the QMC perks section for your download at any time.

Thanks you’re a real peach! card

October 3, 2012 By Chris Durnan

Oops, I thought I had sent this back the first week of September.  While we were on vacation, my parents’ peach crop was ripe.  I like to go help make butter, pie fillings and such, but my ma did all the work on her own this year since I was gone – yet I still reaped the goodies.  *smile*  Anyway, I made her a card as a thank you.  I wanted to use the “peach” theme.  Chris didn’t have a peach file, but I found a digial image on bing.com and combined it with THANKS from her file #CD00177 Thankful Titles 2.  I love the title files!  I use them over and over.  Since the peaches were digital, I used the file in Photoshop Elements added some text and shadows then printed it out.  Added bling to the peaches, ribbon and a little hand stitching.

I love this digital cutter file set from Chris!
It’s actually designed to be a journal of thanks and blessings, but I love that it can be cut to make a fantastic thank you card. You can find the cutter file here. I cut the detailed image from a pattern paper, inked the solid background image, and layered it all on a patterned piece of paper for the card. Super quick, yet I love how it turned out.
Thanks for looking!

Halloween Jumble

September 26, 2012 By Chris Durnan

Hello Card A Day Blog visitors. Today the theme is  Halloween….

I wanted to share this card sent to me by Kristen B. using one of my files. It could be a very simple card with the one cut on the front, but I think the ribbon on top just makes it frilly and fun. Hope you like and it makes you smile.

Thank you Kristin B. for sharing this with me!!
If you are coming by my blog to find this file, it can be purchased here.
If you purchase the files and need a file type that is not included, please let me know I am slowly adding more file types to old files. The AI file can be opened in Inkscape and saved as an svg. But I can also get the conversion for you within a few days.
Thank you to those who visit my blog regularly.
Enjoy!
Chris
