Optimism

November 3, 2009 By Chris Durnan

Optimism does not mix well with watery eyes, runny noses and fever. I was very optimistic that we were on the road to mend. However, I seem to be the worse for wear right now. Darn it. So back to it I go and I will write more tomorrow.

Enjoy!

quick note

November 2, 2009 By Chris Durnan

Trying to get my head back into it this morning. We spent the weekend pretty sick. My little one had a temperature of 102.3 and varying the rest of the time. He seems to be jinxed for Halloween weekends. So no school today. The 24 hour no symptom policy in effect. I am off to hang out with him. So until tomorrow… see you then…

Enjoy!

Seems like this year there are more houses with really neat Halloween decorations. I decided to make a layout with a few pictures and found the perfect files from Chris. I used the word Fall from her Colors of Fall file and re-sized both leaves to sprinkle on the pages. Then I used her Web file – from her Quarterly challenge collection to highlight the huge spider that is on the side of one of the houses in our neighborhood.

Maybe….

October 30, 2009 By Chris Durnan

Went to put on shoes and this is what I found. I may buy him his own vaccuum after all! He said with a tilt of the head and his dimpled little cheek “But I didn’t dump them on the floor like normal!” So very true So very true!

Enjoy!

2 year old Birthday Parties…

October 29, 2009 By Chris Durnan

So this past weekend was my niece’s birthday. She turned two and it was alot of fun with family. Here is a picture of my sister and sister-in-law with our kiddos. My sister is on the right and her daughter is the little girl. My nephew is the little boy on the left and my sister-in-law. The kiddos wouldn’t stop chowing. So we all just smiled for the camera. It was turtle cake. Pretty cool.

Then the opening gifts is always cute. My niece runs up opens one and then takes off again and plays. She wouldn’t stop moving and couldn’t concentrate on one piece of “loot”

This is my nephew with my son’s Bobby Hat on and that is a vaccuum pipe from a “clean like mommy” set for a pretend vaccuum. my son was in love with the whole set. My BIL was putting it together and it was amusing to watch because he would grab one piece and stick it together and another piece would wander away in a little kids hands and then migrate back and my BIL would stick it together a little more. Finally when done they all went to clean the kitchen floor. My kiddo asked me for the toy as well. Giving me all the reasons why he needed it. I commented that if he wanted to clean he could use any number of “actual cleaning” things we have like the vaccuum.. etc…etc.. I got a roll of the eyes. haha. I guess pretend is more fun.
Here is my nephew also look into the squirt gun like it had a scope on it. haha.

This is my sister’s Turtle cake. It had sneakers on it. Soooooo cute. She always makes the cakes for my son. This cake was super fun!

This is my Aunt Gillian and Uncle Mark.
I need to take them up on their offer of kid sitting so we can go dancing! Happy Smiles there.
Well that’s it for Birthday Party Pics. I tried to get pics of my niece, but she wouldn’t stand still for a moment, but she hads lots to keep up with. lots and lots of fun!
Enjoy!

A little tape goes a long way… or at least til the roll runs out.

October 28, 2009 By Chris Durnan

So this past weekend, my son who tries to fix everything like Dad and draws out plans for the details and sketches for building robots, rabbit traps, forts, jailes. He uses the ruler and draws them all up… well anyways.. my son walks by me with tape. He loves tape. What is it with kids and tape? I buy myself a new container of tape I by one for him because if it is on the counter it is as good as gone. He walks by me and out the door. Door slams… So I get up and go to get the camera because I am sure it is good. Tape outside.. hmm.. I really hope the dog is okay… So I open the door and this is what I see…

So I am good for a little game… “What ya doing?” I know this tire is flat. (I have such an uncanny ability to get flat tires that if I could wrap it up with my ability to shrink clothes. I am sure I could rule the world or at least jump start the economy trend with all the clothes and tire replacements.. anyways)… My son says very matter of fact.. like duh! didn’t you see me walk out here with the tape… ” I am fixing your tire. It just needs air and you’re good to go” So I told him “well smile so I can take a picture of you fixing my tire.” and tried not to giggle. So here he is with tape and fixing the tire…

Here is the tire with all the holes he could find repaired. Yes, I am out of tape to wrap my nieces bday present. I hope he doesn’t notice me snage two pieces to tape the ends. And we are waiting on Dad to get home and run the air compressor. All I can say is… Maybe I’ll buy my little one some Duct tape for Christmas. MacGyver here we come! Love my life!
Enjoy!

Blackhawk Grins!

October 27, 2009 By Chris Durnan

What did I do last weekend? hmm.. I slept alot of it. Saturday was busy and fun, but Sunday I think not resting even tho’ I felt yuck all week… it all hit me. I am ready to be healthy again. Just ridiculous. So I am still catching up today (Tuesday) from the weekend, but not to bad.
I picked up my kiddo from school today and he was super excited to tell me all about the BlackHawk that landed at their school and how incredibly windy it was. He thought it was darn cool. I took this picture of the fence to have for him as we were leaving midday. He told me all the statistics on it. Was fun to hear his excitement. Totally a boy! Love it.

More tomorrow….
Enjoy!

So much more than Just a dog (Oct 2009 Sketch challenge)

October 27, 2009 By Chris Durnan

A layout using the October 2009 sketch challenge file. Love using sketches and these are perfect because you get the file to cut with them! Not exactly the sketch but that was my starting point. Primas, pop dots and bling!

New Layout using CD00605

October 25, 2009 By Chris Durnan

This is my latest layout using CD00605 – Family Frame. This was one of the files available in the last QMC but you still have time to join this QMC which can be found HERE.

This is a photo of my In-Laws, my DH and my son and daughter on a recent visit to our home. This was my last chance for a photo shoot with my daughter as she is now working as an Au Pair in Virginia in the USA. Long way from Australia! My In-Laws just happened to be visiting at the same time, so we had a house full for a few days, it was great!

This file was perfect for this layout! The file includes the rectangle frame that I have used here and the Family title, but as an added bonus, also includes an oval frame as well! The frame around my photo and the “Family” have had styles applied to them.

Thanks for looking,

cheers, caz
