Friday’s Frenzy..

April 24, 2009 By Chris Durnan

Hello to everyone….
Well this week was just one of those weeks where I could never get enough done to get it all done. Spent alot of time with my kiddo. And focusing on being happy, but still being okay with being sad. And sooo that means I didn’t get a chance to get dollar deals set for the store. So I instead have posted a few coupons for your use.

And also here are some things going on in the forum.. to keep you busy..

Love to Cook? Love New Recipes..
Preparations are being made to put together a recipe swap. The head Chef is Sarah and she is getting ready to organize the ingredients and requests and put together a recipe swap. Little recipe albums are great for holiday gifts. (and we all know my quest for finishing handmade holiday gifts this year). If you would like to read more details you can visit the forum here.

Tags…Tricia has quite a few groups going for Tags in the forum. Tags are great for presents, scrapbook pages, cards, Tag Albums and so much more. If you are interested in joining any of the small groups of tag creators (3-4), you can sign up in the forum. The due date is not until July 1st. So much time to get them together. Wouldn’t a fall tag look great attached to a nice bottle of wine for house warming gift or hostess present this holiday season?

Ribbon Buy-In Sara is the hostess for this buy-in. So if you are addicted to the Stampin’ Up Ribbon now is the time to get in on a bulk order and add to your stash.

BINGO..Are you almost ready? We are almost ready to play again too…. Woohoo!

Monthly Sketch Challenge..Did you do the sketch challenge with the cute little owl in the forum? This month is almost over join in and finish a page for your project.

So much fun going in the forum.. If you need space to organize your own swaps or challenges and need space. Just email me your thoughts and we can provide the space for you. An easy going fun place to visit and Enjoy!

**

Well I must run as I just realized Friday is usually my create and do laundry day and guess what… I haven’t done either… ahhhh!! So I must get back to it quick so I have some clean jeans to wear to the fair to cheer on the 4-h kids. yikes.
Have a wonderful weekend!

Enjoy!

Chris Durnan

My files work on many machines. Some of them are: Klik-n-kut, Pazzle, Wishblade, Silhouette, Cricut, Craft Robo. Some of the software involved with these machines are: Funtime, Scrapbooking, WinPC/Signlab, Inkscape, Create & Cut, Illustrator, KNK Studio, Robomaster, DesignMaster and the list goes on….. Enjoy!

an altered path…

April 20, 2009 By Chris Durnan

Well we have made it to Monday. Sometimes in life a few days alter your path and how you live it. I write this post today with a heavy heart. And without going into alot of detail, we layed our puppy to rest after an incident on Friday. It is interesting how such a smile life can impact you so quickly. For instance knowing she is gone, but still getting up to check to see if she needs to go out at 2 a.m. in the morning. Because of this whole situation we also lost one of our other dogs. So we are at the loss of two of our family members. Many around us may say. They are just animals it is just an animal just a pet. But my husband and I take our stewardship of our animals and their place in our lives very seriously and with love. So I know this week will be filled with empty pauses and moments that really can’t be filled other than with a hug. We told my son Sunday morning after some of our closest friends hung out with him for a few hours so we could just handle everything. It only shatters your heart into a million tiny pieces to see your child’s heart break from the words you have told him. But from there we let him decide the rest of the day… so his choice… let’s go to the fair. So we spent a few hours dodging reality because we knew when we got home it would hit us in the face. Another positive thing this weekend we escaped on Saturday to do our usual riding horses. It was important to me to get my son out of the house even tho’ his puppy was in the hospital. Life truly does go on and you can cherish the memories and the moments for they remain within your heart, but you have to go forward. Tomorrow always comes. My theory being you can hurt and you can hurt from the depths of your soul, but you still gotta keep on living and living to the best of your ability. So then.. Saturday was the last day of a buckle series my son has ridden in. (Secretly I know two wonderful people bought him his buckle so he could feel he has ridden with the big guys and won) But he really feels he has given it his all every weekend we went to ride so he is anxious to win one of those buckles. Well he did and it was given to him by his buddy Eddie. Below are some pictures. He has found a place to put the buckle on his dresser and has decided we need to put up a hook to hang his belt on. He also has figured out how to walk around with his thumbs hooked in it so he can flash it to anyone who sees. I will get a better picture of the buckle and post it tomorrow.
Pushing the cows with Dad.

My kiddo receiving his buckle from the guys
My big guy with all the big guys and gals who won.

Look Mom!

A congratulatory hug from a friend
Watching the trains at the fair (He wants to go back and see them again)

My son’s BOLT impersonation at the fair. haha.
Riding and elephant is a litttttle different then riding a horse.
On to business…
Well folks I have a backlog of emails to reply to. I will start working on them this morning. And then this afternoon my intentions are to spend time with my son keeping him busy and his mind occupied. So don’t hesitate to email me if you are in need of something quickly. And I will do my best to get through all the coorespondence and to dos this morning and tomorrow morning. Have a wonderful day! And I thank you for your understanding.
Thank you to Lori for all your help this weekend (I couldn’t have done it without you) and everyone’s heartfelt words. The community of support I have here enriches my life and my soul.
Enjoy life and this moment for it may be altered completely in the next.

I made this layout with a picture of Michelle Hessler and some of her Designers I met at the paperthreads convention. I used one of Chris’s new ribbon borders at the bottom of the picture. I LOVE these borders. I’ve been looking for some for a while and now Chris has 3 files of them. The title is my own design and the eggs are by Shelly’s Art at Paperthreads. The brass circle charm at the bottom right is from http://www.acharmingplace.com/.

Holy Smokes I cannot believe it is the end of the day Friday. I just feel like I could use another 5 hours in my day today and I might catch up.

Wew!! But one thing I did get done today….

Set the Dollar Deals for this weekend.
You can see them by visiting the front page of the store!!

Here are a few of the files int he Dollar Bin through this Sunday. to see them all hit the store!! Woohoo!!

And I must run and do some laundry for the weekend or I will have nothing to wear. Well that is a little dramatic, but nothing to wear that I want to. Have a wonderful weekend!

Would you say that I have a …PLETHORA?

April 14, 2009 By Chris Durnan

I love to smile… most of you have probably figured this out already. But this video below is another one of the things that makes me smile. You will often find my hubby and I throwing out the line… “Would you say… that I have a plethora… ” it works well in situations like… Would you say I have a PLETHORA of dirty dishes… would you say that I have a Plethora of scrapbooking items… would you say that I have a PLETHORA of books… So I am curious what is your movie line??? One of my favorite movie songs tomorrow if I can find it on youtube. … As for now I am back to accounting..ugho.. then back to creating files tomorrow woohoo!! Always a bright and sunny day to look forward to.. Have a wonderful day…
And tomorrow I should have the pinata pics. to post… Not a plethora.. just one but so much fun.
Enjoy!

So I was a busy bee this weekend :-). I also created this Wedding Day coin holder for my SIL. These are pictures of her daughter’s wedding. I LOVE how it turned out and I’m sure my step-niece will be stealing it – lol. The “titles” are from the new Wedding Words files. The silver charms are from http://www.acharmingplace.com/.

April challenge

April 14, 2009 By Chris Durnan

I finished up my pages for the April challenge :-). I’ve been looking for these old pictures since I started my Barn albums. I finally found them a couple of weeks ago. Actually, I found the negatives. I took these over 20 years ago while I was taking a black&white photography class. (Back in my single days – lol). Now I just need to make 2 more copies of each page for my brother’s ablums

The tree is from the challenge file. The box “ribbon” is from Chris’s “Buried in Boxes” file which I couldn’t find in the store, so it may not be there yet. And the adorable pig is from the “Visiting the Farm – CD00514” file. thanks for looking :-).
