Well, I am back and ready to get back to the scrapping world. Sketches are a great way for me to get the creative juices flowing, and with the added embellishments, what could be easier. This month's sketch was created by Becky at Pagemaps (http://www.pagemaps.com/) Chris has added a few goodies and we are ready to go.

Remember, The rules are pretty simple: 1. Use this sketch as an inspiration for a project. 2. Post your completed project here in this thread for us all to enjoy. That's it, simple as can be.

Remember the previous month's sketches and files are still available for you to go back and grab embellishments if you need them for other projects.

Looking forward to seeing what you can do with this sketch.

Please let me know if you have any problems downloading the files, my internet at the new house has been dropping in and out.

I loved this sketch. The simplicity of 1 photo and the clean look of the blocked design. Unfortunately, my handwritten journal block is not as clean and "blocky" as I would like it.

All the supplies are American Crafts. Now that is simple.

Now I need to go back on work on the summer challenges that I missed.

Not sure if this counts since I didn't use the sketch... hope to later this month... but I did use the little sprig from the file on this layout along with one of the QMC files #CD00577.

CHRIS CHRIS!!! Please Please - would you take the photo cut from the mat in the file???? I tried but couldn't figure out how to ungroup it in my KNK software.

It would be perfect for a sweet scalloped card base :D.

I can do it but you can do it in knk by clicking on it and go up and break group. I dont have knk open so i cant remember the heading. You just want the squares out of it I am thinking? ... You're on a roll Sandra!!

Yes - that's what I want. And I thought I had seen the un-group option somewhere. I'll look again:).

Here's my submission for the September Sketch Challenge--and it was a challenge. I usually cram alot on my pages and this was very simple--I really had to hold myself back.
It's very elegant--and it was fun following a sketch.
PS I STINK at taking pictures--I don't have a large enough scanner or the program to scan my layouts--so it's up to my digital camera & I can never figure out how to take the picture without it looking fuzzy or weird. Sorry about that!

Here's my Sept. challenge. I used some papers from the Bohemia line by My Mind's Eye I got a couple of years ago. This is my Amarillo dd, she and her guy finally made it legal after 10 years! And we had a family celebration when we were there a few weeks ago. I forgot how much I like this paper! You know what, I think I have the tag upside down, what do you think? Looks ok to me, but maybe I'll change it, Undu to the rescue. LOL
I love seeing all your layouts girls.

Pam,

I really like that paper as well, I have made several layouts with it. I am sure that in a few years, you won't even notice that the tag seems upside down. But I know how it is..... Sometimes things just don't feel right.

I think it looks great. Thanks for playing along. Rosalie

Very cute layout. Thanks for joining us.
I just posting the Oct. Sketch, are you ready to play again? :)

Rosalie

I am ready. I plan to start sooner this month, especially with all the excitement and partying this week coaxing me to get some cuts glued onto a page. I already downloaded the Oct. sketch files and printed a picture of the sketch. Now I have to figure out how to make it work on my 8 1/2 x 11" pages.

Do most of you leave off the personal info when you photograph a layout, and then add it afterwards? I felt awkward putting my kids names on stuff that is semi-public, so I left it out of the posted pictures.

Lisa

tulip918
10-01-2009, 03:45 PM
Lisa,

I would just hang the circle off of the page for 8.5x11. I do try to vary the sketch shapes and size to include everyone.

I don't worry about my kids names on the site. I have a blog that I keep for friends and family. If someone really wanted to learn info about my kids. It would not be that hard. That's my 2 cents.

Rosalie

I am not that worried about putting names on layouts that I post. Almost everything I post also goes on my Blog, where a lot more is shared LOL and I never put surnames, addresses or private stuff like that on view!

Cheers, caz

The only time I did cover something was because it was a lo for my mom's new house with her address on the page. Basically the pages were moving for one house the next with addy here. I just covered it with a piece of paper in the photo. Otherwise I don't worry about the names. ;)

I know some people fuzz out the info. but alot of the time the sentiment makes the whole page. It is kinda a personal call i think.
