Planner Swap - Make 13 (6x6) double pages for a month. Left side is decorated and right side holds the calendar and can also be decorated. On the side where the binding will be leave 1/2 for it so the rings won't cut into the calendar or decorations. When you request a month, also say if you would like your pages bound before being sent back to you.

Here's the October page I did for a prior swap....

October 2009 (http://visualdesignsbychris.com/forum/album.php?albumid=5&pictureid=24)

OH the cool thing about these... I save the page that doesn't have the calendar on it and use it in a mini album later:).

Pages due by Dec 4 so they can be rebundled and mailed back out the next week. Include return postage with your pages. I will PM everyone my address once the swap is filled.

Oh I need some clarification...
I am liking this idea... I make a 6x6 with fun stuff for the month on the left and attach the calendar on a 6x6 on the right?
let me know.

woohoo!
I am digging the swaps.

You got it! I forgot to bring mine home to scan but it you look at the picture I linked you can barely see the calendar on the right side.

It will open like a book and have "fun stuff" on the left and the calendar page on the right. It is best to leave about 1/2 inch where the two pages meet to bind it if you want. This year one girl printed her calendar template on clear thin something - lol. it looks really cool. You can glue or staple you calendar on the page. This idea originated several years ago by a friend that found one for sale on ebay. She's actually a member here now:).

OH - I found a better picture of both pages. Does that help?

Moved picture to first post.

Here's what I'd like to do. Have everyone get their pages to me Dec 4. I can use that weekend to rebundle them and mail them back the next week. That give people like me time to bind them and have them ready for early Christmas gifts.

Doing your individual pages really goes quickly if you do them assemble line :).

I've started a list in the first post. Trust me this is going to be a challenge for me too to get them done. I've never done covers before .

It is sad that I am at the dentist waiting room and because we do their computers I can work on their net. haha. love it. The waiting room here is pure luxury. It has a tv and entertainment center and couch and plants and it's like a living room with a corner area with video games for the kids. All antique furniture. so nice. ahhh.. okay I am rambling I better work.

I added Tina to Nov.

Now before you all go asking me to join. I'll say NO! I don't use a paper planner. I have a older day-runner and hardly ever used it. PC and Palm pilot did all my planning, then the phone, and now the blackberry. The only person I could gift it to has a HUGE planner. So, 6x6 would work either. But I do like seeing your creations. :D

You girls are cracking me up!!!

Ginger thanks for updating the first post with the signups.

Sarah PM'd me a great suggestion and offered to do it but I have a bind it all so I'll offer... Anyone that doesn't have a bind-it-all and would like theirs bound just say so. We can put it beside your name in the sign up list so I won't forget who. I have tons of o-rings, black, red and white:).

AND if we get enough interest and fill up we can do two! Because I really want two for gifts and wouldn't mind doing three. This will be the first year I don't keep one if I only do two. I would have to ask Sarah to host the second one so she could bind some - lol.

AND FYI - I don't use mine except to "display" on my desk at work. I do look up dates in it but never write in it. It's too pretty to write on - lol.

I agree Sarah I am in awe as well of Tina. I have pretty much the same setup as Sarah. with multiple places. I even have a calendar in the bathroom so when my hubby "has a seat" the calendar is in front of him and highlights all the birthdays and the weekend events. So he is slightly aware of the schedule. haha. And he has started to remember to call his family on their birthdays. He is getting better about it then me. If I could put a pen station with notecards maybe he could write out the holiday cards. hahaha. okay that might be pushing it. I love one specific calendar and it is always on my holiday list. It escapes me right now. dang it. I wanna susan clark. but I'd have to look at it.

Also, I went to lunch at Sweet tomatoes today and they had a menu roll on the table that was a metal square base . Two small rods of metal came up vertically and a bar was welded across the top horizontally and with binder rings holding it up. I immediately thought of this. I took a picture. My hubby said he could make it for me if I can't find them. So I might doing mine with hanging like that. have to think on it . I will post the picture tomorrow when I get it off my camera.

You guys are all awesome!

Okay I am rambling.
Enjoy!

No need to be in awe ladies. The only things I have appts for is docs, dentist and hair appts. I lead a pretty boring life now that the kids are almost grown. Work then home then work then home.. so not much to remember..

I have a question for those participating in the first swap...

Do you (or if you are giving it away as a gift) have anyone that celebrates something other than Christmas (i.e. Hanukkah, Kwannza, etc.). I am planning out my part of the swap [December] and do want to offend anyone if i decorate it in a Christmas theme. Please let me know if you do celebrate something else and i can do yours different and let sandra know which one is for who.

If we end up needing it even with those 2 groups I would be willing to do another in the 2nd swap as well.

WOW those are sooo cool :)\\

Thanks Elizabeth! It wasn't an original idea:). The "cover lady" used cloth in a prior planner swap. I went to a cloth store and saw this first thing. And after looking through the whole store I came back to it - lol. I usually do go with my first choice.

I think thats a good idea.. Making them was super fun and they go really quick once you decide on a design. I have November for the first and October for the second so it was really easy to think of what to do.

I really hope the second one fills up too! These will make great gifts and unique ones too! How neat to get a gift from someone and for it to be handmade by many people. I just think that is so cool.

If you haven't signed up for a slot in either calendar yet now is the time come join us in calendar 2.

I agree with putting an end date on signing up for the second planner swap...how about Nov 15th? I've posted it on the other site so we'll see if we get any interest from there...

The second Planner Swap has the following months still open:
January
April
May
Aug

Pam - you send all the pages you make to the Hostess. She will divide them into calendars, bind the ones that have asked them to be bound then mail the completed calendar back to everyone.

Does that make sense? The hostess will have all the pages from everyone before she mails them back to everyone.

ATTN: Swap 1 participants... I have a slight delimna now. I am tentatively scheduled for surgery Dec 3. Just waiting for insurance to approve it and not expecting any trouble with that. SOOOOO - If you could get me your pages around Thanksgiving that would be AWESOME! I just found out about the surgery last week and it didn't occur to me that this swap was going to be affected until tonight:(. I'm so sorry.

I'm not expecting the surgery to be a major deal but then who am I to say - lol. It is jaw surgery to remove a cyst in my left jaw that is wearing a "divot" in my lower jaw joint. Doctor will also fill in the "divot". started having pain last summer from it.

The document provided - is everyone just printing it as is on an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet, or is anyone resizing it? Yeah, that's what I have done, cut cardstock, then I thought maybe the color wouldn't be right for the next page, guess we could just do something neutral...did you leave the month on the calendar page or cut it off? My two pages match eachother htey both have a green background. I cut the March off because it wasn't centered. I was gonna put the words March underneath the calendar.

I printed the caleder. Trimmed it out and plan to affix it to a 6x6.

I really liked that Sandra said she uses the calendar and then the next year can use the "title pages" to make a quick scrapbook for people. This is because she takes the 6x6 calendar pages out.

Hope this helps in the thought process.

If I get it done the next two nights, I'll take a picture.

Enjoy!

Ok, so do you think we should just send a matching blank 6x6 for the calendar page? I have them already cut, then we can just glue in the calendar when we get it. Because we need something for Sarah to bind. Here's mine, and by the way I have about 3 or 4 different shades of the cardstock, so I'm trying really hard to keep them together correctly.... I know, more complications! :o

You should send both pages, just like you have showing Pam. I'm assuming Sarah will just do stacks of months in order then all she does is pick them up and bind. Chris would call this collating, right? ;)

Collating yes! Man I have collated a lot of papers and books in my life. To many to count. And for Masterlock. Oh Man they have some manuals that were nightmare and had to be hot wrapped. so yeah. COLLATE COLLATE> hahaha.

Loooooks perfect Pam.

I am sooo excited to get this! I won't want to gift them. ugho. maybe one on the counter for the house. oh man. screws up my homamde gift ratio. yikes.

I have both of my swaps cut and ready to mount just need to cut the paper for the second one. since the first one i did was a little more complicated with more pieces the second one i did is not so much as i was running out of time to get it all done. I am working this weekend I planned it that way as we do open hours for weight watchers and not many will want to weigh in after the holidays so i will have time to sit and work on all of this. I am looking forward to getting these in the mail. my daughters are getting both of them. hmmm maybe i will have to keep one of them myself.
