Oct 22nd through Oct 28th Challenge - It's all about YOU!!

The other day I was going through my scrapbooks and noticed while I scrap about everyone and everything... there really are not many pages about "just" me.

Which got me to thinking.... the whole reason for scrapping is to preserve our memories and to let the generations to come know who we are. If there are no pages just about me... how will they know that?

SO... this week's weekly challenged - hosted by me - Beloved Keepsakes (aka Lori) is to submit a layout that has to be all about you!!!

Some idea's:

A day in the life
Favorites (like favorite color, food, music)
What you would do if you won a million dollars
Hobbies or activities
What morals and values do you hope you pass on to other people
Uniquely Me (things that makes you unique)

It can be as serious or as wacky and quirky as you want it to be!!

All entries must be post here at this thread no later than Midnight Oct 28th! The winner will be determined by a poll of the VDBC Designers! And the prize? The prize is AWESOME.......

I want to enter, but this one is hard. I don't take pictures of myself (unlike you?!) And I don't usually write about myself, either. Plus, it's intimidating to actually have to have a better layout than the others, instead of just winning a drawing. I know, you added a drawing, too, but it is still intimidating.

And we're all trying to get over the flu in my house. Now, that gives me an idea for the layout... But I don't think I want to go there.

How you used it in digital format to show that cutter files can be used by those who don't own digital cutters but might be digi scrapbookers.
Love how you totally took the "Always Kiss Me Goodnight" title and broke it apart to use it the way you did. On first look I only saw te Always but then I saw the lips in the upper right hand corner.

Alright, I got my layout done. Now remember, I am a card maker and have only made a couple of scrapbook layouts before, so be kind. :) I have been thinking of making an album of childhood memories/events and this seemed like a good place to start. My layout features a picture of me at about 20 months and shows the beginnings of my lifelong chocolate addiction.

I used Lori's "Bowl Licking Good" file for the title. I knew as soon as I saw that file that I would use it with this photo. Just a perfect match. My circle mat was embellished with a ring of holes and eyelets were added to some of those. I then added an element from Chris's "Fancy Medallions" file with a chocolate candy in the center. I also added a few chocolate candies to the corners of my journaling mat.

I was pretty happy with how it turned out, but I have such a hard time picking out papers and deciding on the composition of the layout. What I have begun doing (even with my card making) is cutting out the elements I know I want to use and playing around with them, then letting the project sit for a day or two. I find that if I just let the ideas percolate, a lot of times I can come up with something I am happy with. I just can't rush through a project.

Can't wait to see more entries. This has been a fun challenge.

Here is my layout. Got some time to finish, not to mention the vinyl wasn't cutting good, needed an adjustment and cleaned the blade holder out. This uses Lori's BK00302, I cut both the smaller ones in vinyl and black cardstock. I did cut them apart to add some extra branches, layered them, used a glitter pen on the cardstock and added a paper flower with a mini brad.

Chris- Fitness words, Halloween titles, A messy desk is a sign of genius
Darcy's Designs- Haircut

I saved room for Tina's Tattoo from her "Have-U" file, but I decided to add it tomorrow.

Sushi is a title I made from a font.

The "A Messy Desk" words are actually a variation on Chris' file. I wanted to remove the "is a sign of genius" part, since it doesn't fit the idea for the page. When I started deleting nodes, I had a couple of blobs from the line below. They looked so appropriately messy that I added blobs to several others. That gave me renewed respect for all of you designers- dealing with the nodes was a big learning experience for me. It took forever!

I had made it a personal challenge to only use VDBC files, or else make my own, so there are a few things I could have added. The page was crowded, so I quit, except for wanting that Tattoo title.
