No pink tree here but I do use pinks and browns on my Christmas Cards. I live in a house with all males. 3 sons and a hubby so the pink tree wouldn't go over well.. By the time I get them to take away the tree it is brown.. ROFL.... Just kidding. When my kids leave I plan to have a tree full of pretty things, because right now I have a tree full of all the ornaments they made or ones I have purchased for them each year so they will take them with them so they can have a set of ornaments for thier trees of all the things they have done or liked over the years and to remind them of thier childhood.. :)

Pam, Your tree is absolutely beautiful.

I have to tell yall, I have been married for almost 25 years. And through the years, Every 2 years, I would change the tree theme. And I had over 25 storage bins of chrismas tree decorations, sorted by theme. Like, Poinsettia tree, gold and white, sea shell beach them, angle theme, nutcracker theme, santa theme, you name it I had it.

When we sold our house 3 years ago, I took all but the white and blue to Jill C. House, and had a huge yardsale and sold it all. My husband couldnt have been happier.

But now, after blue, white and silver with snowman and snowflake theme. I realy find myself wanting to go back to the vintage red and green and poinsettia. I wonder how DH will fell about that. LOL.

BEautiful pam.. Thanks for sharing.. I have to admit I don't have the 1st Christmas decoration out yet. I haven't been able to get any help yet to get the things out of the attic. My dh has to have his other knee replaced now so he doesn't handle the concrete well in the garage where the attic access is. Last weekend I cleaned out the garage so I could get to the attic. Piles up fast especially when you are storing your kiddos things when they are away at college.. LOL any how I am still trying to work on a project to post here it has just been so crazy here.

I'm a traditional Red and green kinda girl - lol. and I love white lights. Last year I started buying red balls to put on our tree because we didn't have any.

Tina - my tree is full of ornaments I've bought for my son too. we downsized our tree this year so only his ornaments were need in addition to my new red ones.

We have a box of our own that I've collected from places we've traveled and ones we received as gifts. I'm ready to do all new ones - lol.

I just took a picture. I'll upload it later and post it. Need to go pick up my son now.

I decided that I have several favorite color combo's for Christmas. That works out fine, because I can spread the different colors throughout the house. Green and red, burgundy and gold, blue and silver. I have been collecting ornaments since I was a kid. Then when our kids were born, I decided we would get or make an ornament for each of them each year. Since 7 of the 9 are still at home, we have a lot of ornaments. The older boys are usually lazy and don't want to put theirs up. The ornaments are all different colors and types, including ones from overseas trips.

I guess green and red (with white) is my overall favorite. I chose to use those colors for a smocked music box ball table ornament I just finished today as a surprise for my mom for a Christmas gift. She does lots of sewing and needlework, but she does not know how to smock. It was especially fun trying to get it finished while she and dad were here for a short visit. I am attaching pictures of the smocking and the completed ball. It has a small Swiss wind up music box in the bottom, which is on a pedestal so it revolves as it plays.

My favorite Christmas color combination is red and pearl white and so I decorate our tree with red, pearl white and silver. I love it but someday I may decide to change to a different color combination.:) This is the card that I made last year for Christmas. The joy word is cut out of pearl white paper.

I seen these posted on one of the KNK groups, I gave it a try and it was so easy and they turned out beautiful.

I loved the odd shapped ornaments with the iridescent glow, and used MS blue, silver glitter and a white iridescent glitter. White ribbon with clear beads already on the ribbon. Cut words made in KNK on white vinyl. And used ribbon to hang and a bow.

I will be posting the words as a freebie hopefully today, as soon as I get them converted.

I think they turned out beautiful.

Sharon,
Those are beautiful! Did you just put the glitter in the glass bulb or did you use glue to coat the sides then add the glitter. I was planning to do these for the residents at my husbands work for christmas (he is the director at an assisted living center), but when I tried it I was not very happy with the results. Maybe I should try using a super fine glitter rather than what I used. I will be anxiously awaiting for your word file because the one that I tried cutting out of vinyl was way too intricate that I finally gave up trying to use it.

Glitter is all inside, so no mess. I just love them,

Im working on converting the file, and a tutorial i seen on the net, will post it when im done

Hi Pam, I got the ornaments at Michaels they were half off so I think they were like 2.50 for 4. I love the shape of them, they had some larger then these with only 3 i think, Of course I wanted more, so go 3 packs of 4. Make sure to check the tips, and tops. I had 2 with cracked tips, and couldnt use them, one had a craked top, so I just put clear tape on it, and its coverd by the ribbon, so you cant even tell.

Im getting ready to post the file in a few.

Here are a few things I've been working on. I really like them all, it's been fun working on them, but I"m staying up WAY TOO LATE every night! The tree card is an idea I found on Splitcoast Stampers, I've had this stamp set for a year and not even used it, love the gallery where you go to Stampin Up then to the stamp set you have, WOW lots of ideas. I used my Cuttlebug embossing folder which adds elegance, and silver heat embossed the tree. The holly card I cased from my store, as well as the candy tins, it's just some Hershey nuggets covered with strips of paper and decorated, easy to do. So I made about 17 of the tree card, 17 of the holly card and 15 of the penguin card that I showed you last week...wow that was alot of paper piecing! And made about 5 or 6 of the candy tins. Well, this is pretty colorful isn't it! I still need to make a few more ornaments with vinyl.

Thanks for your compliments. Here's another pic I forgot to post. The card with trees is beautiful, you stamp the design, let it dry and then wipe Versamark across it and heat emboss with SU iridescent ice embossing powder...but I thought it was too messy (for me) to make alot of them! LOL I've enjoyed stamping for a change, it's been a long time since I've used my stamps.

rsmobley85
12-15-2009, 10:30 AM
Nope, not messy at all.

I take a painters tray with the little pocket, And put a drop of floor was in it, and then put some pear ex in it, use the back of a paint brush to stir, use a small paint brush or aqua pen with floor wax in it instead of water. And just pick up the mixed colors and paint, it dries to a shinny coating,

Here are 2 cards I did.

If you look at my blog, the blue flowers at the top and the icon on the right, that is a card I did, with the technique called Painted pearls. I just used Paint.net, to pull them off the card and put on my blog.

Ok Sharon you seem to use floor wax for more than your floor. Please tell me what kind you use and for what? (maybe another thread) So we don't hijack this thread. TIA
