Due Feb 17th - Black and white Challenge

I have seen a few posts recently that I have just found beautiful. They use Black and White.

So this weeks challenge is something black and white...

Here is one of the ones I saw and it also made me want to try some of that flower soft. Or I think I saw a way somewhere to make my own.

I have seen some beautiful wedding cards done in black and white, it really is pretty.

I already bought a card as I didnt know if I would have time, but who knows. We have a week right.

the funny thing is.. My DH hasn't received a Valentine's from me in all the years we've been together, and this year I have about 6 !! for him so far LOL so I am really done with Valentines!

So you can leave them all over where you know he will go, like the sock drawer, the fridge, bathroom mirror, tool box, leave them all weekend, then on monday morning, leave one in his car taped to the steering wheel with a note that says, Oh yah, for got one, LOL! He will know he is extra loved this year.

Hmm! I like the sounds of this, I might have to try it. LOL!

LOL! While I was in a 'Valentine' frenzy..I had made this, set it to the side, because I really wasn't pleased with it. I had tried to take my stickles and do a design around my 'Love' stamp.. and ooops! ..made a smudge. Well, as we all know, there is never a mistake in scrapbooking..just a place for embellishing...right??? LOL! So I added a few more stickles and just took my brush and sord of smeared it all over to even it out..( sorda kinda).. you get the picture! Ha! And I can't throw away anything! Anywho, the pic doesn't pick up the sparkle and shine, but it turned out alright..(sorda kinda)!! LOL!! :D

*I used 2 different cuttlebug embossing folders on the white mat and flower

Hope this qualifys for the Black and white challenge, LOL!

The frame is black, the back drop mat is white, TItle is in Sage, Cream and Bazzill bling. And then rhinestone flourishes in the corners.

This is for my daughters wedding, she wanted a picture frame for all the guest to sign, so they can hang it on the wall at their new house. She said, why have it in a book you never look at when you can read all your friends and familys Wedding wishes every day.

So I picked up this frame at michaels. The picture is 8 x 10, and the frame is huge. This is one of their engagement pictures and will replace it with a wedding picture after the wedding.

I think this is the last cutter projects. Just have to do 2 more hanging flower arrangement's for the pergola. And then start working on altering the wedding dress, and think we are about done untill the week of.

If for some reason I happen to find some free time, I will work on some pages for the album.

Hey, You can take a coarse sponge and ink it and just dab it over that saying, it will look distressed and cover the mistake.

now why didnt I think of that! the biggest problem was that the card was glitter card and really slippery. I had a lot of problems with the ink smudging, I ink my card stock edges, and was covered in black ink!! When I redo it, I will use flat card and hopefully it wont be so much of a problem :)

This is the card I made for the Black and White Challenge. I just had to add a bit of colour though. The card pattern is from UK Scrappers site by 'Wingus'. The bottom design is from Chris' Year of the Tiger.

I really didn't think I was going to do this challenge. I just couldn't think of what to do. But then I remembered that I'd been wanting to cut BK00355 Celtic Twist Frames and Corners from the Feb. Grab Bag. It cut great!

I added the word "THANKS" from DD035 Cheery Thanks, but the card seemed a bit plain. So I tried again, and on the 2nd card, I also put a piece I embossed using Cuttlebug's Birds & Swirls folder. (The pink is just background so it would scan better, not part of the cards.)

Black and white is not me, I guess. I really wanted to add some color, but I pushed myself to keep to b&w this once. Well, except for scanning it on top of pink cardstock.

suggested that it's good to have lots of "texture and contrast" if it's strictly b&w. That's why I'm happier with the embossed one, I guess.

I just looked at the 1st card again, and decided to use my red marker to color in the inner spaces of the Celtic knot. Then I decided to ink the edges in red, using the marker since the ink pads are in another room; my marker slipped, :( and I had to color the whole border. So, it now has more than a little red! But, I do like it better.
