I was so excited to see how many people participated in the Feb. 2010 sketch challenge. Thanks for all your hard work in playing along with us. We have prepared another great sketch challenge this month. The sketch is again provided by Becky Fleck of Pagemaps (http://www.pagemaps.com/). She has some really great sketches for any occasion.
This month's digital cutter files have been provided by Tina of Card - I- ology (http://www.visualdesignsbychris.com/store/home.php?cat=292)A big Thanks to Tina for the cute files. Keep your eyes open for other designers in the coming months. It's a great way to sample all the designers.

I can totally see flower pictures and then on the left your decription of them and why they are a part of your garden.

or a dinner is served layout with the table the meal photo and the family recipe on the left.

Just ideas.

I myself.... am off to clean house before my Dad gets here from Wisconsin.

I will probably do snow pictures and replace the flowers with some snow flakes from this weekend. :)

Here's my take on the sketch--I had to make it Easter--because it's on my mind and my kids! This is one using my Long Legged Sam file here in the store, and based on the sketch provided by Pagemaps (i've actually done this sketch before just personally--hahah).

Thanks everyone! I actually used this in the store and on my blog, and I try not to put any photos of my kids on the internet. So you will VERY rarely see photos on my layouts. Sorry aobut that, but I try to be very careful.

Caz, you are so dang smart--to be able to scrap digitally. I could never get into it. I'm too much of a clutterbug--i like my pages crammed full as you could tell! hahah

Here's my take on the monthly sketch.


Supplies used: Pagemaps sketch,Imaginisce patterned paper, Shelly's Art die cut, Chris Durnan's journal block, title 2 peas miss happy font welded and cut on my craft robo and Calibri font for journal.

The journal block reads: Ice cream is defined by Webster as a rich, sweet, creamy frozen food made from variously flavored cream and milk products churned or stirred to a smooth consistency during the freezing process. We define ice cream as Yum, Yum. We have especially developed a love for Cold Stone Creamery, whose ice cream fits the definition of rich, sweet and creamy. This summer we made regular evening trips to enjoy the frozen confection and each of us has developed our favorite combination. We rarely experiment with the other flavors, why mess with perfection? Andrew chooses cheesecake ice cream with white chips mixed in. I love the oatmeal cookie dough ice cream with chocolate shavings. Ben’s choice is always cotton candy with white chips. Ethan picks sweet cream ice cream with Oreo cookies. Up to this point, Nadia shares with everyone. Although, I am sure that she is already forming her opinion for next summer

very nice everyone... I love that you included your favorites Rosalie. We still go to the local ice cream shop as a family every once in a while and talk about my grandfather and his penchant for two particular flavors until we told him he could have them both in one cup. Our grandmother looked like she was gonna kill us. His health. the $. all the above. but he loved it. :) Thanks for the memory.

everyone's layouts are great! Hope to get to do this over the weekend. Son will be at a church retreat and it's going to be beautiful so Husband will be riding his bicycle all afternoon :).

gorgeous layout Rosalie! We have an Gelato factory near us and sometimes treat ourselves to a special ice-cream. It is really expensive, you could purchase 4lts of ice-cream from the Supermarket for the same price as a triple cone, but well worth the cost.. YUM!!

Wow Caz! Guess that would be a once in a while treat. Love the shops here. One just opened for the season, one more to go then our favorites will all be open. ;)

I decided to use some of the March grab bag items for this sketch to make it more manly. I plan on using it for some photos my hubby has loose in a new book. ;) You know he really wouldn't like the flower thing, lol, sorry ladies but loved the sketch and files. I used files from Chris and Tina. Both cut great and DH loved them. Thanks!

I finished my version, with the sketch turned to fit my 8.5 x 11" page better. http://www.visualdesignsbychris.com/forum/picture.php?albumid=42&pictureid=661

It uses some flowers from a Grab Bag file, LC0047 Blossoming Beauty, plus part of the March sketch challenge files and a paper ribbon from Chris.

I cut some extra flowers to add to my stash, but my Cricut wasn't cutting tiny ones well tonight. I think it was partly the mat. It was one I made sticky again using Zig 2 way glue, and I think I put too much glue on it. I need to add some t-shirt lint to it and try again tomorrow.

Thanks for an interesting challenge. I did not fit the challenge files on the way I'd hoped, so I may try again sometime.

It looks great to me. I just wanted to remind you and everyone that you are not required to use the challenge files. They are just there to give you a little more inspiration. If they can help you complete a page or card that's Fantastic!

This challenge is get us scrapping. At least we do 1 page a month!:cool:
