July Sketch Challenge 2010

I know it's only June 25 and it's 5 days until I should be posting the July sketch. :eek: Well, since I am hosting this little challenge...I am posting early. :D Oh, and I will be away from the computer until July 5 or 6. So instead of posting late.... You get the point.

This month we have a sketch from Becky Fleck at Pagemaps (http://www.pagemaps.com/) loaded with Stars and a few stripes to help us celebrate the 4th of July.

Sharon of RS Mobleys Designs has create the files for us this month. They are really cute. I love the scalloped mat with stars and the stars and stripe border. Thanks Sharon. Be sure to check out her store. (http://www.visualdesignsbychris.com/store/home.php?cat=309)

I was so happy to be able to have the opportunity to create cutter files using Becky Fleck sketches. I totally love them, and they are the only sketches I use. So this was such an honor for me.

I hope you like the files. (Ask if you have any questions on cutting) I did test cut every thing, so it should cut just fine. Make sure you check your sizes for your machines.

Now keep in mind, Im a card maker, because scrapping stresses me out for some reason.

So I did this 2 page layout out. Using the files I designed for this July Sketch Challenge.

I added a few extra mats to the frames for detail.(Not included in the Sketch file)

I also used used the extra stars from the circle frame and added those to the scallop boarder. With Silver brads to pull the color from the silver ribbon.

I used Blue Micro glitter on the blue stars on the frame. White glitter on the smalller stars. Red stickles on the side boarder. And on the extra stars that look like fire works, on the frame on the right.

I added a silver ribbon to the stripes frames for added detal. Rounded the corners of the picture frame. ( those stickers in the picture frame are just placed there , they are not staying there, I need some pictures)

The Flag with July 4th and the "Family, Friends & Fireworks" are my files. Be watching for those next week.

Incredible, Sharon! :D I'm in on this one and hopefully by the end of July, my DH will have my main computer fixed and I can access my pictures to complete this LO. My mother board fired so I'm using my laptop. No access to my main computer where ALL my pictures are. SIGH!!!! :(

The great thing about the sketch challenge, you can always do them, no time frame.

I still have several I need to do. But have other things to do first.

welcome to the forum.

What part are you having trouble with. Can you give me a little more information.

If your trying to download the file I posted for this challenge. Check post number 2 and click of the file for mat you need, If you use a different software like DS or Scal or MTC, then you need the svg.

If this isnt what you needed. Please post back so we can help you.

:o So I finally decided to extract the files first - duh!! and then they opened with no problem in SCAL 2 -sorry to be so dense! I am going to work on the layouts tonight -since we are leaving for Atlanta in the morning . Thank you again!!!

Thanks everyone for taken up the slack and being available to answer questions. This month has just gotten away from me. Between vacation, visitors for 10 days, attending CKC and getting some projects ready for the iowa state fair. I have not had time to get a page together this month. I love all the stars and can see me using this on for sports pages. We went to Ottawa for Canada Day. I really need Maple leaves and not stars :)

Heat and Humidity have been really high and cutting paper has been a nightmare. Hope the front moves on Sat lets me cut Sun and Mon. :( And cools down some.

Ginger, I know how that is cutting paper here in Florida, I use a heat gun to dry my paper before I cut it and it cuts like butter. Try it.

Well I didn't get this cut out but I did use part of the scallop with stars of my bad cut on this card for my FIL.
