September 30, 2008 By Chris Durnan

The first download post is up in the new QMC. A day early, but I am ready to go. I created the Cheerleader file because I have gotten some awesome Cheerleading since my announcements. I thought this would maybe make a nice card or emphasize a layout for someone you are proud of in your life.
I sent the download link out to everyone I had as of 5 pm on Monday night. If you have ordered a Membership spot in the QMC. Give Paypal and myself a bit to coordinate and get you the link.
So that is the new QMC…

New Toys, Addictions, and Late Night Horse Play. Wew!

September 29, 2008 By Chris Durnan

Okay I did it… I am addicted already to a Crackberry (as my friend Lori calls them) I have been trying to decide whether to go with a blackberry or another phone for a while now. And I jumped in and my hubby jumped in too. So now we both have those little monsters going off everytime we get an email which can be often. Last night he got up in the middle of the night to turn his rings/vibrates off because you could hear it from the bedroom. I am really liking it. So many features and I email alot in life and also do alot in life so maybe this will help me not feel like I am missing something. haha. Okay maybe I am just an addict. I can’t decide if I should mess with the ringers or leave it as it? I will have to think on it.

Speaking of addicts… I have been playing with photoshop and cleaning up some of my digital scrap kits that I have mostly complete, but not quite and I find myself thinking. That isn’t a smooth enough cut and tweaking it and then realizing it isn’t for a cutter I “undo” wow. I think I might digital cutter file issues. I know some of you will find this amusing because I am sure you stare at an image on a book or the side of a box or a pattern and think. Can I make that a cutter file? hmmmm… if you do…well thats okay .. they say half the battle is realizing there might be a problem. hahah.

And still here I sit on my heating pad. My back is just tweaked enough to where it can be miserable when I get up from a chair or move to quickly. But at times nothing at all. Who knows. I will give it one more week then go see a doc or a masseuse. this happened to me also when I had my son. For the first two months I could barely move part of my back. I couldn’t jump and down it hurt so bad. so I went to a deep tissue masseuse and I could walk again without issues. So I am hoping since this one is a lot less it will go away on its own. My hubby won an accupuncture gift certificate. He thinks I should use it. Oh man… I am nervous about that. I am not so into needles. Anyone done this? have any input? for now it’s me an the heating pad and ibuprofen.

An adventurous evening last night.. well about 2 a.m.. I didn’t lock the gate properly and two of our houses got out of the arena and their stalls. So my hubby and I are out in the dark rounding them up. At first they didn’t want to come and were spooked because of the dark or enjoying the freedom to run, but then they smelled the sweet feed. This is like candy to a horse. I didn’t have an extra halter to grab. so I walked 4 feet and held out my hand with sweet feed on it and let our paint horse eat it. then walked another 5 or 6 feet and let him have more. finally got him back in the arena. My husband and I went back inside and couldn’t sleep right away because of the tension. I lost a horse when I was pregnant with my son because she got out an open gate and turned around to get back to the others and went over the top of a 5 foot horse climb (mesh) fence. Tore herself up and took me going out to her to beg her to stand up. She made it about 5 days and then passed in the night. Having been pregnant I was beside myself. So it sticks with me when spooky things happen. so when one of the horses went to run by me and the choice was let him run by on the right or run into our boat propeller on the left. I stepped back and let him run by and didn’t try to stop him. All in all. Everyone made it back into their homes unscathed and my hubby and I chatted for a while in the middle of the night in an effort to calm us down a bit. Thing is with horses and situations you have to be calm or they will spook. So when it is all said and done the tension hits you afterwards.wew.

Well I have rambled your ear/eyes off enough..

Things you should know.
Download the files from the QMC. Not much time. The link is above.

Yes I am creating files for this coming QMC which starts October 1st

And yes I am still taking Challenge participants. Email me for the link. And yes for those who would rather not commit to the challenge. Some of these files (maybe not all) will end up in the QMC, but they will have titles and additional images added to them. I like full packages of files!

Other then that. I better get back to it.

Oh and tomorrow I will post a pic of the first file already loaded to the next quarters club.
Enjoy!

New Creative Team Member – Sandra… and just my ramblings..

September 26, 2008 By Chris Durnan

Well if you visit the Creative Teams blog then you know who the new Creative Team Member is…. Sandra from NC …. where are you?? ….. Sandra is our new CT member. and here is a quick bio about her. Sandra cuts on the Pink Wishblade. Her positive and fun energy will be a great addition to the team. Her first post on the CT blog is HERE so you can see her latest work. Thanks for joining us Sandra!
HI – my name is Sandra Allred. I’m 48. Married for 24 years to Ricky and we have one son, John, who is 14 and just started high school **EEK**. I’m a native Carolinian. Born in South Carolina and moved to North Carolina after college. I met my husband in Sunday school at church :-). I’ve been scrapbooking for 12 1/2 years, stamping and card making not quite as long. I purchased my pink wishblade in Spring of 2007 and just really started using it spring 2008. I had to get over wasting paper with it – lol. I don’t waste much anymore, except when I’m having trouble with my blade setting. I keep learning how to use it better each day and love it when my blade is working right – lol.

I work part-time (actually about 3/4 time) at a major utility company. I’ve worked since college and can’t wait to retire. Would have a long time ago if hubby didn’t insist I work – lol. We attend a Baptist church where I teach 2 year old Sunday school and chaperone the youth on occasion.

I love to have fun and tease and my feelings are not hurt easily.

Also, while your visiting the CT Blog check out Sussann’s Bike Word Book. Awesome job and alot of fun. Here is the closed word book. See the rest HERE. I, also, have a few tutorial downloads on my main page one of them being the Concept of a Word Book and How to use My word Book letter sets. If you are interested in making your own.
I have a few more challenge links to send out and will do it this morning. And the links for the QMC will go out today to. I will do all those sometime today and those I miss this morning will get there links on Monday. Then I am headed out for a night on the town with the hubby. My little one is going to hang out with his cousins and play for a bit while we run some errands and have dinner. I am looking forward to it. I love my son, but taking those few moments to go to Barnes & Nobles by ourselves or the Verizon store for new phones. It can be a small pleasure because you aren’t worried about which phones are being pulled off the stands.
My son has had us up most of the night coughing. He is fine all day and then lays down to sleep and just starts coughing. He pretty much sleeps in a pile of pillows with them stacked so his head is elevated. He hates the albuterol inhaler and so he will only use the nebulizer machine. In the winter time he has to use a flovent inhaler to try and keep him from getting to sick. Listening to him cough is just nerve wracking. My husband actually went and laid in his bed with him for part of the night to make sure he was breathing deep enough. And this morning he is running around and cleared his head and is fine. Who knows? Anyone? If it doesn’t even out we’ll be headed to the docs next week again. The last visits was shots. So we will see how that goes over. In my minds eye I imagine a baby wild kitten trying to crawl up over your shoulder and get away!! or the other scenario will be a lecture for the doctor when he gets there. Last time after shots my son was eloquently telling everyone in the waiting room how they were gonna get hurt with shots and the doctor was doing shots that day. The other kids in the waiting room were mortified while I am trying to carry and rush my son out of the waiting room around some parents who froze in the doorway. My emotions were GET OUT OF THE WAY. So I can carry him out! It was a long conversation on the way home about how you shouldn’t scare other little kids like that. His theory was IT was the TRUTH. This is true.

Okay I am rambling. Sorry folks. I better run. Hubby is home today to work on things here at the home office. I am off to finish laundry and get links out to everyone.

Have a wonderful wonderful weekend!!
Enjoy!

new project – word book

September 26, 2008 By Chris Durnan

Here is a project I finished using Chris’s word book files. I love how easy the book cuts and how easily everything went together. The pictures are small, so just in case you can’t tell, the book spells Bikes.

My first announcement… and more to come…

September 25, 2008 By Chris Durnan

Woohoo! WE made it to Thurs. I have sent out 82. 82 requests for the Challenge Links. I am astounded. I am impressed. Now we will count the numbers and see how many complete the challenge. And it will be my most successful one yet! How Phenomenal. While I was working on sending out the links. I kept counting and counting and counting and thought HOLY SMOKES we have over 50. No we have over 60. Yowser yowser. I can’t wait to see everything. If you requested the link today, I will get it to you tomorrow. I am taking a break and making sure all the converts are up and ready. And they are all in place now.

So then QMC… I am going to send out the link to everyone tomorrow. I will not be uploading files up to it until October 1st, but will be sending out the link early. Just to make sure everyone is covered. If you haven’t joined yet, hit the button on the right hand side of my blog.

My files… Those who are members of my Yahoo group which I use for a newsletter type updates know this already, but I thought I would reiterate here. Today is my last day for files at Paperthreads. If you want something specifically that you cannot wait til the beginning of November to get then I would jump over there today. And yes the official announcement is. I am leaving Paperthreads. Many have guessed this and emailed me about it. Although I love the Paperthreads group of ladies and their comradery, it is just time for me to move out on my own. It was a very amicable split and Michelle has been very gracious. This means. You have to,… have to get those files downloaded whether you have purchased them or they are in the QMC. So please don’t miss out and not do it. Michelle is leaving the QMC in the forum until the 31st, but the files in the store have to be downloaded today. And remember the store is on Michigan time. Here is the link to my store section. If you aren’t part of my Yahoo Group. Join in. It is maybe one or two emails a week and usually reminders for dates, coupons, sales, etc etc… Link on the right hand side of my blog.

And now for that big ol news and getting it out there. What a relief… I spilled the beans. It feels so good. Wew!

Do you have any great plans for the weekend? I do. I plan to stay home and work on finishing up some of the projects we have going on here. Right now I am laying on a heating pad because I seem to have tweaked my back some. However, it has to be better by this weekend because I need to move something to goodwill and get items ready for the dump and just clean it all out!! So I am working on advil and heating pad. Has anyone had accupuncture on their back. My hubby won a free gift certificate for it. 🙂 yowser.

And tomorrow I will announce my new addition to the Creative Team! and then I am blessed to have a second CT announcement next week. Many people have emailed me and asked why do I need such a big CT team?? why? Because I like it low key and easy going. One submission a month from any files. Not high pressure for deadlines. Just sometime during that month. I just want that one submission to be the best it can be and as always all of the ladies on the team do fabulous work!! Fabulous! So that’s why for those who have emailed me and requested info from me for the last few weeks. Or how they can get one or what they can do and what the specifics are.. I usually take on new CT members by watching the groups and forums and looking for something that catches my eye and I love referrals from current CT members. So thats how and why that works.. But we will be at 10 so for now I am full. Vicki is leaving us and we will miss her! But her work is phenomenal and we will keep an eye out for what she is creating when she can. In the near future tho.. there will be more opportunities for people to be involved.. so keep your eyes open. .. wooohooo

On that note. I gotta run. My son wants to help me with dishes. so I better get them done while he is interested. And then I will need a shower because I will be soakeddddddd.

Have a wonderful evening and…
Enjoy!

Much better today… And it’s picture day!!

September 24, 2008 By Chris Durnan

So WOW I read my post from Monday and man I was a crabby girl. Everything bothered me Monday. So now I am back on track. and my apologies. Back away from the blog when you are crabby that is this weeks advice.
So today is picture day from last weekend. I love pictures and they make me happy so here are some of mine.

So before we went camping/boating I cooked and I have emails as to what I cooked. First I cooked my potato salad. It is my in-laws favorite and for those who can’t stand potato salad they usually will eat min because I try to avoid anything sweet in it. So it is simple potatoes boiled and cubed, eggs boiled and diced, bacon bits, and a bunch of green onions and the key ingredients are mayo that is not sweet. Helmans or Best foods. I used Trader Joe’s because it is gluten free. My sister swears it is the trader Joe’s mayo that makes it good. And I never salt, but i do use Tony’s Creole seasoning which has some salt in it

Then after that I made Cilantro Chicken Salad from a Homemade Gourmet mix. I LOVE Homemade Gourmet. We actually had some of this left when we got back. So Sunday night because it has no mayo or yogurt in it but is just fresh tasting. I took some of the leftovers and through them on a rice crust cheese pizza and put a little more mozarella on top. It is yummy yummy yummy.

And then because I had been cooking all day. My little one decided he had to cook to. We talked about foods that go together like yogurt, mustard and ketchup don’t work well together. However, yogurt and fresh fruit go together well. So he took yogurt and added chunks of fresh fruit and chowed it down. He was happy and came up with it on his own and was please with his cooking experience. I love his creativity. And then next are pics of my little one and Dad riding the tube. I am dealing with this better. Much better when I am the person driving the boat and can just say UMMM NO! when he gives me the speed up thumb. And the three man tube he shared with a friends son.

Then next is the little one working the pinata at our friends Daughter’s bday party. Originally a Dora Pinata transformed into a strawberry shortcake one to better fit the theme. Also, My friend Michele always get cupcake cakes. no cutting no plates sometimes. just lots of frosting and easy pick up and go for more playing. We had a wonderful time at the park. Jumping Castle, Pinata, train, Cupcakes with lots of frosting and good friends. What couldn’t be better.

Well I better run I have a ton to do before we head into town for Open House tonight at Pre-K. Tomorrow will be posts on the links for the challenge and qmc. Have a wonderful evening! Enjoy!

Monday Morning Moodiness and just ramblings…

September 22, 2008 By Chris Durnan

I am not sure why, but going through some Monday Morning Moodiness. Just don’t want to get moving. So I figured I would post because it always gets me going and rejuvenated and on Mondays I can prepare for what I need to do for the week. …..
Okay my first thought… Load Pictures to blog of weekend! Lots of fun.
2nd thought.. blog roll.
3rd thought.. finish conversions for challenge
4th thought.. Remind people to download from the QMC.
and there’s more, but lets just jump right into it.
I will get you some pictures from this weekend. It was a quick trip to the lake friday night and home Saturday night, but we had a wonderful time with some friends. Also, got to attend a birthday party for our close friends daughter. So much fun. Jumping castle, train, strawberry shortcake, busy busy and loved it. I actually spent some time scrapping this weekend for a gift. instead of just test cutting. It was fun fun fun! more on that later.
If you have my link on your blog, send me your blog link. I will post it here in kind. So email me here and put BLOG LINK in your subject. Subjects are sooo important to me. I filter alot of my email by subjects. So yes I would love to put your blog on my blog in kind. I used to have alot of them listed, buttttt when I went to three column I lost them. So send them over please.

Next was Challenge Conversions. I am half way there and will be sending out the link. I have been getting alot of requests and will be cross referencing them with turned in files from last time and then sending out the link! So it should be to you by the end of the week. I can’t wait to see what everyone comes up with. If you want to join in. See the details in the previous post.
And then was the QMC download. … I think I might put a countdown counter on my blog. I leave it up to you as the joiner to get your files down and protect them. And what you do to get them down and save them is your perogative. The last day is the 31st. So please do it quickly. The last file is up so if you do it today you won’t have to worry. I fyou want to sign up again it is in the right hand side of my blog and there is a link for more details for this quarter because it will run a bit differently.
I have another Creative Team person to be announced soon. I am sooo excited to have her. We will have to wait a bit tho’ because I think she wants to create some stunners to go with her announcement! And I think everything she does is phenomenal! Just like my other members.
So I have to get a new phone. I have been perusing the verizon website for about two weeks. I don’t like any of the phones. Everyone is in to touch screens. I like buttons. I have a touch screen I can’t wear my earrings or it does something weird. I have chunky fingers so I can never hit the spec of a dot on the spot in order to get the feature I want. (Because I have lost three of the stylus) So I want buttons. I also would like a keyboard. I don’t know how the txters of the world do it with the number pad. give me a full on qwerty so I can type out exactly what I’d like. hmm… So I am leaning towards a blackberry because then I could keep up on email when going on our weekend jaunts. hmm…what to do what to do. Well I’ll shelf it til I have time to peruse the verizon site again.
Well I feel a little better. Just discombobulated. So I am gonna get back to conversions and test cuts and get those challenge files ready. Thank you to everyone and your wonderful notes sent in with the challenge files requests. Makes me feel awesome! thanks.
Enjoy!

Challenge details…

September 19, 2008 By Chris Durnan

Okay here it is the Challenge guidelines and then I am off to finish the food for our overnight stay at the lake. I always cook as much as I can ahead of time. Who wants to cook it all there. Just heat it there. At least I don’t want to cook it all there. However, my hubby is the best morning camp cook. He likes to make sausage eggs tortillas. you name it!

Okay on to the Challenge. This Challenge will run like the others. You will receive the link to download all the files. And you only have to use one of them in a project of your choice and submit them into me by the Due Date.

The particulars.
-Email Me HERE . Make Sure Challenge is in the Subject line. So you don’t get lost in my email box.
-Then you will get the link from me some time next week.
-Then download all or just the files you would like. All are in SCUT GSD KNK WPC or AI format
-Then create a project and email to me a picture.
– This Challenge is due by the 22nd of October. This should give you plenty of opportunity with lots of weekend in there to get something completed.

I will be sending out the link next week some time (probably friday), but will start taking requests for the challenge pieces. Just make sure your email says Challenge in the subject.
I hope you plan to join in and can’t wait to see what everyone comes up with. Any project works altered, scrapbooks cards, anything. And you can create as many projects as you’d like.

I am trying to think of some categories for some winning prizes. So I will think on this some more. And post them next week. I thought one or two would make it interesting.

Those visiting my blog to find out about the next QMC click on the link on the top right for more info. 🙂 Thank you!

Everyone have a wonderful weekend!!! Please be safe and I will be back sometime on Sunday.

Enjoy!
