Was yesterday Monday? Bingo Winner. Icing. Icing. Icing.

November 18, 2008 By Chris Durnan

Wew. wow! It flew by quick and quick. Was it Monday yesterday for a full 24 hours? And today looks like it is just about as quick, as I am just about ready to head out the door and pickup the kiddo from Pre-K.

Thought I would take a moment to say Hello and listen to some Christmas music! I am loving my little player just puts me in a positive mood. I am ready for the holidays. I know times are tight. Money is stretched thin, but I have therefor not gone to to many dinners or outtings and spent more time at home cutting and actually putting things together. This to me is exciting and makes me proud of my holiday gifts to others. The last few years I have been so rushed I have just been running and slapping things together. This year I am loving the ability to create. So that being the case I won’t be posting my In Laws creation here because I know my FIL visits and reads my blog to hear about the antics of my kiddo. (waving to Papa). But I am interested to see what you come up with!

So I think when I get back I need to take a few moments to add more holiday music to the player. Woohoo!

Also.. we have a winner in Bingo and a Biggest Bingo Loser winner to! So congrats to everyone. The girls at the forum are already preparing for the next one. So keep an eye open. and if you wanted that custom frame. the coupon in the forum expires on the 20th. So login and get it and order yours today. I will give it to you in whatever file type you’d like.

And we are at the Icing!! for QMC members they know what that means… THE ICING ON THE CAKE and we are over 20 files in the QMC membership and therefore we have hit icing. The best part!! I will post the show and tell in the morning. Thank you to those who joined!

Enjoy!

New File for Chris’s QMC, M&M issues, Dejavu, Riding Horses, Grandma’s Number

November 15, 2008 By Chris Durnan

rights granted for use by the DigiWebStudio
Here is the most recent file added to the QMC. Did you join yet? I made a mistake in my days when I sent out the notice, but the QMC for this quarter will be taken down from the store Sunday. So that’s your last day to join for Oct-December. Most but not all of the files are listed on the left hand side of my blog look for the 4th quarter ones.
Above is one of the new files and there is a whole set of these butterfly edges and such going to the store. One of many new files loading to the QMC join HERE before you miss out.

Now on to fun & life..

Are you seeing dejavu? You might have because I figured out how to post my blog in the forum to. Woohoo! Kinda cool. I love it when I figure stuff out.
So my little one is very disappointed! Want to hear why??
He is not happy that I bought M&Ms with sticks in them Yuck! He so emphatically said with his tongue stuck out and the head cocked and you know the side stance and overemphasis. I smiled and said. Really sticks let me see hmm… I took a few from him looked them over to make sure he knew I was taking him seriously with such a huge issue. HA! I looked at them and smiled and said well with sticks?? Could it be they have peanuts in them? He looked at me cocked his head and said. peanuts? hmm.. okay. grabbed the bag walked away with them and polished them off. So Iwill have to notate to the M&M company that sticks in M&Ms would not go over well. So lets not put chocolate covered sticks on the new hot trend list. haha.
Today is Saturday and I am a hoping we get it together and get out to ride some horses and do some Team Sorting. Would be good for the hubby. Good for me to sit in the back of the truck and watch (my back is still bugging me) or walk around leading my son on a pony. Looking forward to it. I hope it isn’t miserable windy because it is nice. Think I’ll take my camera to and see what kinda shots I can get.
And I have to work on the Christmas wishlists for my little one to give Santa and Grandparents. He effectively told me that I should put one particular item on Grandma’s list.. I asked him why? He emphatically said with a great big smile. “Because Grandma gets me what I want” Well I would say without any doubt in my mind that my little one has Grandma’s number. hahah.
Have a wonderful rest of the weekend! And as always thank you for your support!

Enjoy!

Puppet Theater, Beautiful Flowers, last days to join the QMC 4th quarter

November 14, 2008 By Chris Durnan

Helllo to everyone! So today we have a little show and tell. My son wanted a puppet theater. So we took a box and cut it up a little and then he painted it. I print & cut some files I have been working on for the store and we taped straws to the backs to make puppets. He has the whole set of Mary, Joseph, Jesus, three wisemen etc. So I read one of the childrens books we have for him with the store of Christmas and Jesus and he ran through all the charachters behind his puppet screen. It was cute. This is a hard task for me. I wanted to cover the box with paper and make it look pretty and put up a curtain. And he wanted his painted puppet theater and could care less that the top says string cheese. Sometimes simplicity is the best and when it gets trumpled on or crammed in the toy box I won’t worry about it. And I got to testcut some files. !!
Woohoo!!
work some more on those.
And here are some pictures, I was informed by my 4 year old that it would be better on a table because then you wouldn’t be able to see him. So true. So true. love him.

And then here is a pleasant sight. So I have this planter on the edge of my porch that has a mishmash of plants in it. In fact, I through a plant in it that my husband had bought me one day on the way home from work. I can’t remember what it is called. It was beautiful I didn’t water it right in the house. So I took the roots and planted them in this pot. Well they have been growing and growing and growing all summer. Big green stalks. I have gotten tons of teasing that it truly was a weed and I wasn’t willing to admit it. Well now I am smiling with my cheshire grin. A beautiful plant. It made me smile when my hubby brought it home and it makes me smile when I see it now as I walk out the door. What a tease this plants has been all summer to pop out such beautiful flowers to add to my day. All is forgiven I will keep watering it. hahah.

If you are holding out on buying the qmc for this quarter you are going to miss out.. I just added a preview of another file I will have uploaded today. If I get a chance I will post the picture here later today. If you want to join. click the button on the top right of my blog.
Other then that. I am off for a little lunch puppet theater and also to get some files out of my computer and into your hands. Have a wonderful day!

Enjoy!

Holiday Music!! last days for the QMC to join this quarter..

November 12, 2008 By Chris Durnan

Yes I know you are rolling your eyes at my player and thinking “holy smokes Chris” it isn’t even Christmas. However, I love to listen to holiday music when I am working on Christmas items. This way I can pop out the player and leave it run in a seperate window. I love to listen to those who use their voice when singing. I don’t think I would add a Metallica inspired song to my player ( i am not anti metallica or heavy metal, just not a mood setter for me), but if you have a holiday suggestion and the artist that you think I should add so you can listen while you read my blog over the next few days or pop it out and listen to it the rest of the day, please email me the name and song title. I’ll listen and see if I can find it inthe playlist to add. I have set this up I think to not turn on when you load my page. So it is your choice to listen or not. 🙂 But I hope it helps you get into that holiday spirit.

I hope to get out to the craft room today to do more then test cuts. and finish up some pieces. I am nervous because December is coming and it will be busy busy in fact in preparation for it I have decided to take down the QMC from my store at the end of this week. If you want to join in do it now. There are alot of files in their already, but we are on a roll towards our task of 29.
you will find the link on the top right of my blog. And some of the files offered on my lower left.

My little one is home today again. He just can’t seem to kick the gravelly sound. We were up all night in the sit and sleep pose. Sure love that he snuggles with me at times even if it is because he is asleep. haha.

Well I am off to create and work and play and of course….
Enjoy!!!

made it in…

November 12, 2008 By Chris Durnan

So here I am the end of the day and another one is on the calendar as almost completed for 2008. What a great year it has been!

I think I am gonna take the QMC down for this quarter from the store. So if you want it now is the time. Alot of the files and not all of them are listed on the left hand side of my blog. You are looking for those marked 4th quarter Quarterly membership. The others may be from previous ones. Not many more are joining so I think it is time to close it down in the next few days. So jump on in if you are interested. otherwise on to new things.

I have been home the last few days with a 4 year old that is hacking up a storm. Tomorrow I think he is going to school just to give our Mother Son bonding a break. before it unravels and one of us leaves the situation insane. He did get some of his room clean today so this is a good thing. And I am cooking in the crockpot so the house smells good. Had to go to the grocery store and got some gonga deals. I was shocked. And so pleased with my frugal shopping. And the drive to the hay store. So a very eventful day, but not awesome for files. I do have a few to get up into the 4shared link and I do have a few new ones at the forum and a poll running. So if you want your say jump on over there.

i gotta head outside to sit by the chimnea and then to bed with my sleepy head.

Have a wonderful day!
Enjoy!

More files in the QMC, Bingo Challenge

November 7, 2008 By Chris Durnan

More files in the QMC/Chris’s Cutter File Club!! So visit and download (still uploading to the 4shared link, but have been uploaded to the Foum) and we are close.. so close to the “icing” over 20 files I create for the Club members. You can see some of them on the sidebar of my blog. And there are more to come!!

Also, If you are playing Bingo at the forum keep an eye on it. Karen is running a challenge sometime later today. So if you want extra prizes be ready to go! for the B-I-N-G-O! And it is a new file! Well my goal is all new files for the BINGO prizes and not Cutter file Club Files. So my creative hat is on!

As you can see on the right hand side of my blog we went as the CSI crew this year for Halloween. Kinda cool. Just threw on the hat and because I like the show CSI I had a hat for hubby to. Lots of fun.

Well I have to go rummage through the closet for something to wear Saturday night. time spent with hubby. looking forward to it. Gala event for one of the chambers we belong to. very nice!

Hope you are having a wonderful day! And also enjoy your weekend! I am off to work on some more files.

Enjoy!

Crafty Time

November 7, 2008 By Chris Durnan

It’s been a while but I managed to get some crafting done in between Halloween and Guy Folks night, the only downside is that it wasn’t the fabbi new print & cut file Chris let me play with due to my printer playing up 🙁 Never mind it should be better soon, Chris uploaded the lovey Son scroll frame in one of her past membership club plus the new Tigerlily file and I think they really go well. I thought seen as the picture was so large and the files really detailed it made the page more striking.
Again this file was from a previous membership but I saw the pop up card template and new it would work really well, I think this may be the Carruthers family Christmas card as it’s so fun!

One gift done – Clear Acrylic Album. easy peasy.

November 6, 2008 By Chris Durnan

Here is one of the gifts I have been working on. I was really nervous about working with one of these clear acrylic albums and in fact bought this book from Michelle at Paperthreads last holiday season with the intention of using them. But just kinda stared at them blankly. So I jumped into it this year. I have a niece who is in high school and this is a difficult age group to make for. So I took one of these albums and made it so she could put her friends pictures in it. My supplies were, black staz-on ink pad, swirly rubber stamp, some scrap two sided colored card stock, photo corners, the album, and a couple package of stickers that had a clear look to them. So really not alot of supplies and I finished the album in half an hour. I put the clear photo corners on the back side with a precut piece of paper slipped into each spot. This way she can write on the back of the paper and put a picture on the front side of the paper or not write on the paper. Totally her call. I used the theme of girls and friends and stuck with the stickers that might emphasize this. the stickers have a clear look to them. I hope she will like it and I enjoyed doing it.
In the pictures you will see only two jump rings/binder rings. The ones that came with the alum were just huge! I didn’t like them. So I took them off and put two smaller ones on that I liked better. I intend to go get another package of them. I might decorate the rings with ribbon, but it kinda has a clean look to it right now. So I might leave it.
Well hopefully my niece isn’t reading my blog because here are pictures of her gift. Super easy to make.
This word Fabulous is super sparkly!
to funny you can see my camera reflection in the album. haha.

And this is for my niece who is in the picture on the left. Super cutey! (well they are sisters and therefore both my nieces ha)When I got married I was blessed with such wonderful nieces. I am working on a gift for the niece on the right which I will will post next week. We were celebrating their Dad’s birthday, Uncle Jeff. And there is also a pic of Uncle Jeff and my little one.

Have a wonderful day!

Enjoy!
