Rapelling Grandpa

March 12, 2010 By Chris Durnan

So alot of folks asked how my Dad did Rapelling off the 80-100 ft silo at work. Well here’s the pics. He did it and did very well!  He didn’t have to take the class, but signed up for it because he thought he should for safety reasons. So proud of my Dad!

Here is to new adventures and challenge!
I hope you have some awesome adventures this coming weekend!

Don’t forget Monday is the reveal for the March Grab Bag. Stop by here early and you can see the files before I get up and still “grab it” for $7.00. Lots of files and cuts included.

Enjoy!
Chris

Almost everything….

March 12, 2010 By Chris Durnan

Well if you are a QMC member I have been uploading like a crazy designer today and have more to come for next week. A few I need to finish up, but most in the ready to go state. And we will be done for this quarter. We have covered a wide wide topic!

This post will be a short one as my son just told me…. “ I Know almost everything MOM!”. Well with that… I think my job is done. At 5 he knows … ALMOST Everything. Hahahaha

Well it’s fantastic. I had to bite my tongue not to giggle. Hope you  have a great evening!

A few more wintery pics…

March 10, 2010 By Chris Durnan

These pics are my Dad and his grandkids, me going down backwards (because that is the way to sled, ya know), my kiddo going off the snow ramp. He was quite the “evil kanevil” as my Dad called him.

I am working away on finishing up the QMC files. So I am in that frantic frenzy of creating I go through.  But wanted to share some more of my Sister’s awesome pics!

Also, microbeads… where do you buy yours? And where do you think the best deals are?

Enjoy!

We are home… and warming up…

March 9, 2010 By Chris Durnan

While my Dad was here we went to a cabin in Pinetop Arizona for a few days. My son was sooooo excited about this trip. He loves the snow. Here are two pics from my sister’s collection of over 400. (Thank you Nancy!!) My son had so much fun sledding and trying jumps and just going at it. Up and Down the hill all day. With Dad and without.  I will post more later in the week as I have a long long list of emails to respond to and work to catch up on, but we had such a great time I just had to share! Have a wonderful day!
Enjoy!

Baby Baby-CD00608

March 9, 2010 By Chris Durnan

I made this LO in between taking care of my father, and helping my DD with the new nursery, among all the other everyday living….  Whew!!  I wanted to get a jumpstart on our new lil’ ones album.  And btw.. we have found out that it is Definitely a BOY!  The colors are simple, and I just freehanded the cloud, using Cateye inks, the ribbon is Colorbok sticky ribbon (‘Baby Boy’), and Waterfall blue and Copper stickles for the dots. A couple of buttons and brads to finish it off. The file cut beautifully, and I just loved the ‘reflection effect’! Very clever, Chris– thanks so much!

March is a busy birthday month for us. Here’s another fabulous birthday card cutter file from Chris. I added a golden mat behind the tree. I love how elegant this card looks.

Makes my heart beamm…..

March 5, 2010 By Chris Durnan

I just had to share this with you as it made my heart beam. My son is learning to read and write. and I don’t for one instance tell him his spelling is wrong. I figure next year when they start correcting spelling tests and more then we will approach that topic. I don’t want him to pause for a minute when he decides to write something I just want him to write and know he got it down on paper. So I saw this  a week ago, he wrote it on a wipe board and left it on the table. It made me pause and grab my camera and of course take a picture. Did you see what it says….

Mom and Dad They Love Eachother.
Now if that doesn’t make my heart beam and soar.
Love my life!

Anddddd… if you are looking for a challenge this weekend our Thursday challenge was posted yesterday and is hosted by Darcy Dawson…
From the forum….
“With Thursday, comes a brand new challenge for you! This week, I am hosting a Stencil Showdown. The challenge is to use the negative portion from a die cut. Easy peasy…right? And, to make it even easier…I am offering you a portion of my “new & not even in the store yet” Medallion Stencil Kit for you to use. ” For more info or to participate… Follow the yellow brick road HERE

Have a great weekend. Enjoy!

Yeah my Dad comes today. I am stressed about everything I still have to catch up on. But the excitement is winning out to see him again!  Went to costco this week and got this Purple Cow Trimmer.
My guillotine one was cutting crooked and just driving me to frustration. So we shall definitely see how it goes. I unfortunately won’t have a ton of time to play with it before the weekend, but so look forward to it when I get back.  I have some end of year teacher gifts to make and birthday gifts etc etc. So I will review it and if it makes me happy I will add it to my Chris’s Picks page which you can get to on the right hand side of my blog ->->-> A new page I have started to list those items I keep in my craft room. Whether they are truly craft supplies or out of the norm… If you have something you want me to review let me know.  I’ll see if I can get my hands on it and what I think.

Next here are a few pictures from the retreat…
Here is Barbee of Etch All and her little goodie pack she brought. I had to leave early so I didn’t get it finished, but really thought she was a spit fire and loved her passion for her product. The biggest thing she said that made me giggle… “I can’t stand in a glass elevator surrounded by glass and mirrors.. I just start to itch. I have to etch something!!!!” hahaha. made me laugh.
There was more to the items but they are already in my craft room a frame

and a design for etching on them. Really a great demonstration.

I better run so I can get to pick the kiddo from school and then my Dad up from the airport.
Everyone have a wonderful weekend!
Enjoy!
Chris
