Vinyl-Monster Truck for my nephew

March 26, 2012 By Chris Durnan

Another one of my to-do, to-dones. Yeah !!! for my nephew. His soon to be twin
brothers are getting a room remodel so I sent up this layered vinyl for his room door with his name cut out as well.

He loves those Monster Trucks.
I cut it in a few different colors and layered them. the bottom light blue is wall pop material from Lowe’s I got on clearance so it can easily be removed from his wall.
This is a Monster Truck file. You can find here.
On to life… My son is back to school today after a fantastic spring break. I am one of those parents that loves the breaks and lives for them. I already know when the next day is off and what we can do. He was a bit nervous going back to school, but my SIL tells me this is normal. So I will just happily pick him up at the end of school bring him home and squeeze him.
Tonight I hope to get some work out in. I need to kick my body back into gear it has been to long. So wish my luck.
Have a wonderful day!
Enjoy!

Seahorse Download

March 21, 2012 By Chris Durnan

Hello to everyone!!!
Working away on a burst of creativity. I love it!!! My sweet little one has spring break for the last two weeks. He is loving every moment of it and so am I. I realized as he walks around here at the house and makes his day that he has his own soundtrack. It is
awesome! He is singing and humming little songs about everything and even crooned to me about letting him play the wii longer. We,also, have been working on belt loops for cub scouts and cleaning up the house. His birthday is coming soon so we will be tackling his room soon as well. Yikes. But gotta do it. In between hanging with him and getting that time I love I have been creating and working on all kinds of projects. I need to narrow and get some done because many are in pieces and almost done.
One of my to-do, to-done projects I want to complete this week is for my Sister In law for the twins nursery. Want to have the little boys names on the wall. A lot of the décor is under the sea related so here is one of the seahorses for the project just for you.  You can download here. And the password is iagreetou
Love to see what you create with any of my files.
Don’t forget to get that grab bag. Only $7.00 and just a week left to grab it. Fun Outdoors items to cut by 3 designers.
Enjoy!
Chris
Things I need to say.
When you enter the password it says I agree TOU. it means that you agree to my terms of use that this is a personal use. In order for me to keep creating freebies. Please send folks here to my blog. Another good place to find me is on my facebook page for quick updates.
Answers to Questions..
Folks ask my why am I loading to the forum and why the password. Well my other option is a site perhaps like 4shared etc. So you would follow the same steps only instead you go to the forum on the VDBC site and download. I am trying to centralize my work and time on the net so I can create create create. (I am having success with this goal as I have been creating like crazy.) So once you have registered at the forum you can continue to download the freebies by using the passwords. They change once a month rather then every time. So sometimes the forum may not even ask you for a password if you already entered it that month. 🙂 And that is the blah blah blah of today’s post.
So now run on over and grab that file. And just remember….
For the QMC members this file as always is in the
Perks section for current members of the QMC.

Last Day for that super cute Bicycle Ride file

March 14, 2012 By Chris Durnan

So if you want to get that extra file for the Grab Bag today is the last day to download it with your grab bag purchase.

Lori, Ileana and I decided to come together for a Grab Bag this month which has three files each and then a bonus file for those who purchase in the first week. These files are all ready for spring and summer and lots of family activity! Here is the link to get it before the Bicycle Ride file disappears.

I wanted to show you the files I created for the grab bag. I have used the card ones twice already. Easy to cut and mat and add a sentiment. Love it.

Also, my son said he is ready for the squirtguns to come out. We have a huge squirtgun fight at the Scout camp in May. So fun the kids so look forward to it. I personally put my squirtguns in the cooler with the food. Cruel I know. I made this Grandma’s squirtgun file because my Grandma was known for bringing out a huge tray of ice she made for months to liven up the party. The ice was mass chaos. And at times she was known to man the hose. You could also use the hose piece for a garden layout. So much fun. And the ones would be great adds as well to a gardening project with paper. .
Purchase the grab Bag here.
It’s only $7.00 and filled up with lots of fun!
Enjoy!
Chris

Adding some bling

March 13, 2012 By Chris Durnan

Went to the Rodeo in February. My hubby took me shopping a few days before. I know he woulda bought me the “bling” jeans but I couldn’t wrap my head around the cost. So I got a pair of “non bling”  jeans
at a fraction of the cost and went home and added my own bling. This is the first pass. I plan to wash them and see how they hold on. If all is good I will add a cross to the pocket or some swirls to the other pair. Love.love to be able to do my own thing when it comes to crafting. For this I used Jolie heat set crystals and the blue heat tool.  I bought them at Michaels a while ago super cheap. I cant help but snag a bag of those little fancy crystals whenever I can to add to hats and bags and other items. Have even used them on a glass vase for my MIL filled with seashells. Love it! Hope you are having an awesome day!!!
enjoy!

Valentine using #CD00913

March 5, 2012 By Chris Durnan

I cut the cupid  from #CD00913.  Added some lace ribbon, a heart sticker, a bling heart sticker and some pearls.  The Forever tag was something from years ago… Memory Makers maybe?  Patterned Paper was from the early 1990s (LOL – yes, I am a hoarder!) – Keeping Memories Alive.  Rounded a few corners and used a Fiskars border punch.  This one was perfect with the cupid.

picture frame using Chris Durnan’s cutter file

March 5, 2012 By Chris Durnan

I used Chris’s digital cutter file “Love” to decorate this picture frame. You can find it here.

I printed the picture with a blurred effect in photo shop and added the cut pieces to the mat in the picture frame – which I found at the Dollar Tree. I just love how this turned out!

Converting AI to MTC super easy! – Video Tut

February 28, 2012 By Chris Durnan

I have been asked how to take an AI file to an MTC file. Especially for my older files before the svg era. Yep I’ve been around that long. Fun Fun. love the growth and creativity. Suprisingly it is very easy to do and shouldn’t be a worry as you have upgraded to a new machine or want to use Make the Cut.

Here is the video link
This should open right in your browser.

You need the AI file
The inkscape program
and Make the Cut.

Here are some links…

Scouts – catapult/recipe card holder

February 24, 2012 By Chris Durnan

Well we started out with good intentions. We were gonna make the recipe card holders in the back of the Scout Wolf Den handbook. After watching my den members stare at me totally puzzled and one even said with a scrunched up face… “What’s a recipe card holder?” I paused after the question and said you know what….let’s do catapults instead. So they all smiled and nodded in happy agreement. A catapult they could understand. So we took the basic plans for the recipe card holder, but instead flipped over the clothespin and gorilla glued a craft/wide popsicle stick to it and a sobe bottle cap which I put a little blue dot in to cover up the saying inside. Made awesome catapults and we used them on the table for Blue and Gold to show what our den was up to. So much fun!!! And happy boys… And I didnt have to explain what a recipe card holder was 🙂 .
This idea incorporated some plans from the Disney family fun website and also the recipe card holder from the wolf scout book.
Enjoy! Chris
