Creative Team Special Projects Questions
These are the questions I have received regarding my short team of Creative Holiday Cards

1) Yes I will give you the files to work with. and they can be multiples in one project.
2) Yes you can do just one card.
3) Yes I will email you the agreement before you look for a file. just email me. Easy peasy.
4) Yes I will have future Special Projects Teams, but the more you participate in, the more I am likely to choose you in the future.
5) No, you do not have to use holiday files. You can use a piece of any file to create a Holiday Card.
6) No, I am not sure how many will be on the team, but really would like to send out some files by the end of the weekend. I have already accepted on person’s request to join.
7) all finished projects from CT Special Project Team Members are due by october 15th.
8) yes, if a file is missing the SVG in the listing I can convert and send it to you as well. I am in the process of adding SVG to all of them. but with over 800 files it can take some time. 🙂

Hello Creative People!

I am looking for a Special Projects Creative team. This is for holiday themed cards. And by Holiday I mean any holiday within December.

If you celebrate Christmas or Hannukah or Kwanzaa or just like to make fun beautiful winter cards, I am open to many ideas. See the information below and if you are interested,

CT Special Projects – Holiday Cards

Subject – Holiday Cards

Requirement – Hasn’t been posted anywhere before, includes one of my digital cutter files ( I will send you the file of your choice), has to be a card representing the Holidays.

Can be religious in nature, can be silly and fun, or thought provoking and meaningful, Must agree to “Agreement for Special Projects Creative Team” (which I can send on request or will after your application. It just says basically you plan to complete your commitment to this Special Projects Team
and that I can use the photos of the projects to promote my digital cutter files.)

Time Frame/Due Date – Due by Oct. 15th

Needs: Photo of Project (high resolution) and list of Method & Supplies used emailed to Chris Durnan.

Special notes: You may post the project on your blog, website, galleries after they have been posted to the Visual Designs by Chris blog.
This is to help me to showcase some of my files for holiday card making. The photos may be used in other materials or locations throughout the web. And credit will always be given to the creative team member.

Application: Please send:

Two photos of card projects you are most proud of you have done in the past

and one choice of a file you would like to have sent to you to work with from the store of Chris Durnan’s files

Also, please include your email address to reply or send files to,

your user name at the VDBC forum (if you have one),

and your blog or website (if you have one)

And please send me the number of projects you think you can commit to before October 15th.

(This give me an idea of how many spots to limit the Special Projects team to.)

Chess Card

Remember the Birthday card I made last month using Chris’ (CD00707) Chess file?  I’ve included a picture of it again.  Here’s another card I made. This time using the negative from cutting the chess pieces. I used the same Happy Birthday from Shelly’s Art Sentiments Variety (SS00007) at www.PaperThreads.com . Don’t forget your negativesJ.

“Art Work” Layout

Here is my layout for the August Sketch Challenge.  I didn’t follow the sketch exactly but it’s still recognizable – lol.  I used Chris’s file “Artwork created by” (CD00636) for my title, KAndrews’ free school file that came with the challenge (will add my journaling to it later after I decide what to put). And all the circles are from Shelly’s Art (at paperthreads) “Playful Flowers” file (SS00037). That includes the scallop on top.  I was too lazy to make my own and I remembered her file first.  I also used an Earth charm and paint palette charm from www.acharmingplace.com.

April Sketch Challenge

Here’s my layout for the April challenge.  I used the scallop cut from the challenge file.  I cut it from two different colors then overlaid it. I also used the torn paper cut from last August’s challenge file.  It is one of my favorites to cut for journaling.  The two Swirly eggs are from Sam and Hayley Designs (JB00411) at www.Paperthreads.com. I used Bazzil & cardstock and Petallics Paper.  The crucification charm is from www.acharmingplace.com.  The journaling is hard to read because I printed it on Petallics paper and it came out very light, plus my scanner bed needs cleaning – lol.

January Challenge

Here it is… my January Challenge layout. Of course I’m working on Christmas pictures. Those are the only ones I keep up with (and vacation and school but I’m officially behind on those). I’m really a traditional Christmas color person but stepped out of that box this time. I love Hot Pink and these pictures screamed …. “USE PINK” – lol. Sorry about the lousy picture. My scanner isn’t working and I don’t have a good place to take a picture. Still haven’t decided if I’m going to leave the Pink word paper on the layout or not. May change it to a solid pink like the top piece or to all word paper.

Sandra’s Latest…

I’m so excited! I finally got to cut and create. I had to cut one day and create the next but it got done:-). Here they are…

The first is my page layout for the August challenge. From the file, I used the background cut (Bazzill) and put it on top of a patterned Bazzil. I added the paper piecing (which I LOVE), the torn notebook paper, small border piece and 2 arrow photo corners. I added Arrow charms from A Charming Place to each photo corner. The title is my own. Now I just need to do a couple of more pages to finish the story. Oh all my pieces except the background are cut from Petallics paper.

Next is a quick card I made for my son’s best friend. He had his Eagle Scout ceremony this past Saturday. I used the new spring swirls file from the Quarterly club and one of the birds from the April Challenge file. The title is my own.

And my last card is for a sketch challenge on Paperthreads. I needed a small border piece for the card so I used the one from our August challenge file. The large daisies are from Sam and Hailey Designs Paper Blossoms file (JB00068) and the centers are from Shelly’s Art Buttons Galore file (SS00116). The silver butterfly is from A Charming Place

I made these over the holiday weekend. One for my step-neice, one for her husband and one for my neice and her husband.

First a few Thank Yous… Thank you to all the familiar faces I am seeing in the store. I really appreciate your support.
Thank you to my hubby for hanging out on a Sunday and watching football while I work and rework new files. And just lending me that smile when I look over at him. I couldn’t do it without him.
Thank you to all the new members to the QMC that I am seeing. It is fun to see all the new folks with cutting machines sharing their excitement.
Thank you to all those who have referred others to me. It really helps me to continue working on new files.
Because I could never completely express my appreciation to everyone. So I will just keep plunking away and trying to provide the best files and club and a helpful community. I truly am blessed. Thank you.

Also, been to the forum lately? Wow Karen is running a fun game of Bingo. Just to see everyones beautiful birthday cards is worth the visit.

And the creative team members are churning out some awesome pieces which you can see on their blog or you can see in the forum.
We have a new Creative Team Member that comes to us… I will be announcing her this week, but you may have seen her in the forum posting already. We are excited to have her join our team. Beautiful work. She will fit in nicely with our other CT members.
Also, speaking of CT members have you seen Joni’s Crop & Cop story. This story just made me giggle. I was worried about her in the beginning and then it comes out with a happy ending and even re-enactment photos for her scrapbook. I posted it at the forum. or you can visit her blog. to see it. Wow! thanks for the smile Joni. My hubby liked the story and even said. Wow you guys are nutz! ha! Nah just happy!

This week I will be posting info on the Commercial License that has been requested of me. It has gone through a total revamp after listening to many folks on what they would like.

Yes, I will be posting a picture of all of us on horse. My Father-in-law came out to watch us ride on Saturday and probably got the only picture in existence of all of us on horse back. I am hoping it is nice and will post it as soon as he sends it my way.

The current Fresh Files discount is coming down from the store as I reload more files to the store. Thank you to everyone for their specific requests. They will be a coming and will get the discount for the first few days in the store. That’s how it works. You will find them on the front page of the store.
