New Year’s Party Card

It’s my day on Card A Day. So here is part of my post from there and more info… And it is a great way for me to showcase those hidden gems in the gallery. Thank you Esther for this one!

Alot of the time, my Mother In Law has a New Year’s Party, it is a lot of fun. This card would be the perfect invite for her New Year’s Party. My husband’s family is the dancing-est group of people. I have never heard the song “we are family” so many times at family functions. My MIL wanted to clean out the dining room at Thanksgiving so the kids would have room to dance. It didn’t happen this year, but it is an indicator that next year it might be on the list of ideas.

This card was created by Esther and as always she does it with style. She used two of my files to create it. For me… this is a New Year’s Party. 🙂 so fun!

December: Gift for coworkers

These are my gifts for work.  I created the jar top label In Photoshop Elements using two Visual Designs by Chris files:  #CD00955 for the words Merry Christmas and #CD00898 Side cut ornaments – I used the bell.   Added a little text “from the McGoverans” in a cute font.   I made 12 to a page since I had 24 to make.  I made them so they would fit the top of the jar lid then used a 2″ circle punch to punch out the label.  Added a few red jewels, a ribbon and threaded a green button to add to the ribbon.  Inside is peach butter made by my ma from their peach tree.  This may be the last year for work gifts.  When I started, I only had five co-workers.  We are now up to 25 counting myself.

I used Chris’s skeleton file from her Quarterly Membership Club to embellish this layout. This is a picture of some of the ladies dressed up to greet the Trick or Treat -ers at our office. I layered the skeletons on a piece of inked cardstock and put that on a piece of patterned paper. Don’t forget you can find Chris HERE!

Thankfulness and the last day for the bundle..

I am the Card A Day Blog host and appropriately this weekend I am the first of the Holiday Thank you Cards. I wanted to Highlight Kelly S. Card from our gallery at VDBC. Thank you Kelly for such a great card. 
And this is what Kelly S. had to say about it… 
I made this card using the free Cornucopia file from Chris. It features two different patterned papers from Cloud 9 Design. I added brown grosgrain ribbon to hide the seam. Underneath the ribbon, I used my Sew Easy to add stitching. The sentiment is from K Andrew Designs (Amazing You Stamp Set).
Thank you Kelly it is so awesome to see you scrapping! I hope this inspires everyone to send a quick thank you note to all of those hard working prepares and hostesses of Thanksgiving. It’s alot of work and appreciation makes the reward of family coming together even bigger. Enjoy!

My best friend.. my husband.. us

I have this man in my life and I would be lost without him. His smile just makes my heart flutter. I am blessed to be so in love. He is a fantastic father. He never takes a second thought to sweeping me off my feet into a dance. He just is wonderful. He is my best friend. We are going on Anniversary number 11 and we both said. Wow? Does it seem that long? Maybe 3 or 4 years but 11 Wow? I would love to have 1111 more years with him. From sitting by a fire, to watching our son ride horse, to dancing, to chatting, to going through life together. What would I do without him? I would go crazy. He is definitely my happy and calm place. His arms are the warmest and the tightest and the most honest I have ever felt. So Happy Anniversary to us. We make a point to take alot of time for just us. And I think it works. So this photo was from a gala we went to. They had a  photo booth and lots of props. As you can tell in the first picture, my face reads… YOU WANNA WHAT? hahaha. but he said it to make me laugh and we couldn’t stop. We danced and dined with friends it was wonderful. What will we do this anniversary? Who knows. I am not a girl in need of Pomp and Circumstance. My husband shows me everyday how much I, we mean to him. I am a let’s figure it out as we go and not miss out. So in not planning and just flowing for the most part. We have the opportunity to go ride horse and push cows on Saturday morning. And then I think we will hit a local restaurant in the evening with our son for some margaritas. Just be together. That makes me the happiest. Just enjoy each others company. Laugh and Enjoy. I say it often on this blog and although life is not picture perfect all the time (like when I slept through the alarm this morning and couldn’t make a complete sentence and my hubby was giggling as he listened to me.) It may not be picture perfect at times. But it is pretty darn awesome. I do love my life.

Happy Anniversary to my hubby. I cannot wait to live and love through the many more to come.

Answers to Questions..
Folks ask my why am I loading to the forum and why the password. Well my other option is a site perhaps like 4shared etc. So you would follow the same steps only instead you go to the forum on the VDBC site and download. I am trying to centralize my work and time on the net so I can create create create. (I am having success with this goal as I have been creating like crazy.) So once you have registered at the forum you can continue to download the freebies by using the passwords. They change once a month rather then every time. So sometimes the forum may not even ask you for a password if you already entered it that month. 🙂 And that is the blah blah blah of today’s post.

There were some awesome projects submitted this year and I find it a great time to thank those who consistently upload photos to our gallery and forum. You make what we do as designers look soooooo good.

So it is the week before Thanksgiving. And I am so thankful for so many things. I randomly have posted in different places what I am thankful for. I am reminded daily with those who visit the forum and my emails and phone calls and just the friends and loved ones I am so touched by. To have a part of my life. Just wonderful. Thank you for that.

I am off to work on some graphic design work and also cut some files for the craft fair I am participating in in December. 2 of them actually pretty exciting and nerve wracking too. 🙂

National I love Writing Day.

Did you journal today?

I know that a lot of folks in the forum talk about  procrastinating over their journaling. Today is “National I love Writing day”.

Did you know that?

 

What are your tips for getting the journaling done?

 

My favorite place to journal is my Christmas tree. Sounds crazy but it is true. We collect key chains on our travels and I add little laminated tags to each telling a highlight or the year we went on the trip. When we put up our Christmas tree it is a journey through our travels. These are short little tags that don’t require much. When we get our tree up this year I will take a picture.
