From the Mouths of Babes …

May 21, 2011 By Chris Durnan

So this morning, we did our Friday morning run down of weekend plans. Visit Grandma see how she is feeling, visit friends, go swimming, go to golf n stuff, when will be cleanup time (kiddo is responsible for his bathroom. He loves to use the 409. Weird) so we were running through and my son proclaims…. “ When I get out of school and you(talking to my husband) get out of work, It will be the weekend!”. I am standing in the closet and whisper to my hubby “what about me? Do I not work?” So my husband puts out the question… “What about Mom?”. My son proclaims from the end of the hall… “She never quits working!” And you can hear the eyeroll of exasperation in his voice.

HA! I had to cover my mouth with giggles. To funny and excellent comment. As my Sister in Law said, my son is born for Politics! And on that note. I am off to fold his little clothes so he can put them away. Yes a Mom’s job is never done. But oh wonderful job it is. I love it almost as much as being a wife to my fantastic hubby.

Here’s to great plans for the weekend! Woohoo!

Enjoy!

Graduation Cards with Chris Durnan’s files

May 19, 2011 By Chris Durnan

Here are two graduation cards I made with Chris’s Graduation borders. These are two of the borders she included in May’s Grab Bag. You can find the Grab Bag here. I sized each page border down and layered it on top of a graduation themed piece of paper, matted on black. I also cut a small graduation cap out of black and placed it on each corner.

From to-do toooo ta-done!

May 18, 2011 By Chris Durnan

What is your best suggestion?

I find every year about now I think about projects I could complete over summer when it is a 100 plus degrees outside in the cool of my studio a/c unit.  So I think about them and I have even gone to the point where I write them on a wipe board, but I can say. It hasn’t been a great success. What do you do ? I have so many little things I have to do every day to get things accomplished that I need a task organizer for creating great gifts. I have all these items that could be altered into some magnificent treasure for a family member and yet they are filling up my closet. So what are your thoughts.. how do I go from idea to completion. A lot of times I have ideas and I jot them down, but there is no way I can work on it for a few days. So I can’t drop my to-do list for today. However I would love to turn it into a ta-done list.

Any ideas?? I’d love to hear them.

Enjoy!

Actual pic of us me and my kiddo!

May 10, 2011 By Chris Durnan

Rather then our shopping adventures here are the two of us for Mother’s Day!

Love him!

Also, a quick reminder. The grab bag is up in the store filled with all kinds of borders for your use. Then once you have it. Enter in the grab bag challenge and be entered in a drawing for next month’s grab bag.  Anyway you look at it. It’s a great deal.

I am off to play with my new KNK Maxx 24. So excited. Been a while since I got a new machine.

Have a wonderful day!
Enjoy!

Mother’s Day!

May 9, 2011 By Chris Durnan

What a great Mother’s Day! Really I couldn’t be the parent I am without my hubby. So when we celebrate Mother’s Day I think of all the details, helps and things my hubby does that supports me as a Mom. I am truly blessed. And then my kiddo. He really is the light of our lives. I love being a Mom more than I ever thought I would. It gets better every moment.

So I hope you had a great Mother’s Day. My hubby took me to brunch which was delish. And then we hit the sporting good stores. Not a mother’s day thing for most, but for me it was fun. We are planning our Scouts Camping Trip and need a few sleeping bags. So we took the time to wander the store and check everything out. We stopped at a few stores. This chair was at one store. My son couldn’t stop giggling as he sat in it. Yep the giggling made Mother’s Day the best.  And in the morning my kiddo gave me an electric pencil sharpener. FANTASTIC!! Pencil sharpening is the bane of my existence at homework time. So this is the perfect gift for me as a Mom. And I got some new shoes I could hike in. I have them on right now. They are sooo comfy.

I hope you had a wonderful Mother’s Day and your day was filled with togetherness and giggles.

Enjoy!

recipe card with Chris’s file – Henny Hen

May 1, 2011 By Chris Durnan

I love adding new recipe cards to my recipe book. When I got this awesome chicken salad recipe, I knew I had to include it in my book. And I knew Chris had the perfect chicken I could use to accent it. You can find Henny Hen here. Thanks, Chris!

So sorry for the delay

April 27, 2011 By Chris Durnan

I have a ton of emails and have been out all day. I am posting to my blog and forum to let you know I will be right back at it first thing in the a.m. Or later tonight if I can shake these watery allergy eyes and runny nose. Hugs and thank you for your patience. Chris
